Good ol' Sam! She might still be a little naive, but she says what she thinks, and there's so much trust between them that Foyle recognizes what is due to her, and agrees to her helping out. Really loved watching Mr. Kitchen and Miss Weeks in action through this series. Some good writing, and some wonderful acting!

Fabulous show, chiefly because of the fabulous Michael Kitchen. I miss him. He was also delicious in The Buccaneers. Mmmmm Yum. I like many other non-Brits originally fell in love with him in Out of Africa. Everyone was terrific but English actors are the best. Peculiar that a perfectly good actress should choose to go through life with an idiotic and embarrassing name like Honeysuckle. If she didn’t wish to change it she might have at least shortened it to Honey. Evidently she is not embarrassed by it.

Sam marries a politician?! How anticlimactic. What happened to Andrew and the guy at the B & B? I wanted her to marry Andrew and be Foyle's daughter in law. We just started watching it this year.

Weeks is a good actress but, why was she cast as the irresistibly gorgeous driver whom all the young men wanted to date on sight? Beats me.

Foyles' driver was written as irresistible to every young man she met. Weeks is a good actress but no beauty so why was she cast?

There have been some absolutely brilliant series come out of Great Britain, no question, however I would have to acknowledge Foyle's War is the top of the list. Not just Micheal Kitchen, the whole cast is as one! Well done!!

My mother was of that generation and, into old age, she maintained the ‘victory bun’ and the ornate pile that made her long hair seemingly disappear into a small package. As complex as it appeared to modern eyes, with a pencil or knitting needle and a couple of twists, she made it the work of a moment. Impressive stuff to an impressionable lad who otherwise couldn’t give a damn.

Earlier today after watching an episode I was pondering while cooking, wondering how long it must have taken them to do all the lovely styles. Quite envious too, but grateful I don’t have to do that. Hair has never been my strong point 😂I still fail to understand how anyone can curl hair with a tool meant to straighten hair… I just don’t understand 😂

There's an element of similarity between Sam's character and that of Poirot's Captain Hastings. When the chips are down they both more than carry their weight with a bedrock decency and kindness that gives added impulse to everyone else's endeavors. They show us why we're fighting this fight and why we seek to right wrongs.

I liked the series but it was hard getting past the anti American theme of many of the episodes.
@gnolan42812 жыл бұрын
I thought about that but in the end I saw just as much distaste for the conduct of their very own countrymen. It's really the essence of the story line. Even when a society is in a fight for its survival the weakness of human nature within continues unabated. You still need cops to police the place.
@stephenburnage7687 Жыл бұрын
There was a lot of anti-american sentiment in the UK back then. Part of that was driven by America entering the war late but most if it was pure jealousy.
