When I change the time signature in the Transport to 3/4, how come xpand2 or Boom does not play in 3/4? It always plays in 4/4.

Boom only plays in 4/4. Essentially, it's a basic step-sequencer that divides the main musical measurement up in the most common way: 4 quarter notes divided into 4 parts each or a total of 16 steps. Some step sequencers have more advanced settings but this one is very basic and does not have much you can do. Expand just contains sounds that are not connected to a time signature so you should be able to write something in 3/4 in the main timeline and have no problems. You will need to change the time signature to 3/4 though and you'll need to ditch boom, unfortunately.

Hi - Thanks for video. Still can't get mine to work. Had Sibelius software connected to Korg Triton keyboard into MacBook Pro. My old Mac crashed and I bought a new one, but now can't get computer to recognize the keyboard and thus can't use Sibelius. I went through all the steps in your video, but Triton nowhere to be found in MIDI. Please assist.

Great video. Thanks! I'm looking to have to move to Sibelius after using Finale for 35 years and running by entire publishing business on it. Sibelius looks to me like it could be the answer. I use flexitime recording to compose and orchestrate so it's the only program I've seen that ticks all of the boxes for my "must have" list. Dorico is now out of the running. Thanks again!

If you have the time (who does?), I'd try entering a few scores in Sibelius, Dorico, and Musescore (free, but not to be dismissed (anymore)), and see what you're able to get done. Though none directly has every equivalent, there are definitely comparable solutions to flextime in both Sibelius and Dorico (Musescore as well I believe). They mostly set things up and label them differently. Sibelius and Dorico both let you play MIDI into them in different ways and both separate the midi performance from the notation so allow for a more tidy-looking score. I have personally used Sibelius for years (mostly for teaching and my own writing) and it has its own issues, but has done many things well for me and I'm happy to have moved on from Finale. Things are thought out and done differently in Sibelius, but they are often much better for it. For formatting alone, Sibelius made my life immensely easier.

My logic says you don't have an internet connection every time. It is stopping me from getting presets for Alchemy, Horns, Strings, and Space Designer only. I have Monterey 12.7.4. It's driving me crazy. Apple support is hopeless. The last time I had this trouble was 10 years ago for 2 months. I found the problem. It was my Korg driver which I deleted. Some guy in Canada told me the trick. Updates is a bitch even if it's a small one.

Hi:), thank you that really nice. How is possible to have a big slide glissato up and down if there is a huge interval between one note the other?? This is common for fretless instruments in some style of playing, im not talking about pitch banding, im talking about full slide transaction between notes. How to make that with midi, especially violin? 🙏

Hi, Sorry to be a little bit slow but I have this issue in Logic, it failed each time I want to download the greyed sounds that are not installed. Do you mean that we have to move sounds of Logic to an external hardrive to be able to reinstall them correctly after? Best from France.

hey Tim, awesome vid, but when you clicked on the file to send it to Studio One how did you do that? right or left click? I tried both and tat tab you opened and then typed Studio One in, I dont get that pop up option
