The model that the Lord Jesus gave us IS NOT about leadership. It is about Servanthood. That's why the man made church is imploding. Too many pastors think their great leaders but would not lift a finger to help a widow move houses. I've seen it too many times to count in my 40 years of attending churches of all denominations. I'm done.

I learned a lot through my Hurt. God tells us to be discerning. My pastor wasn't equipped to deal with people's struggles. I love the brother. He's a bible teacher, but not a pastor. A pastors job is to be there for the flock. He just wasn't. I approached him several times with my struggles and he seemed uncaring. Plus I noticed other areas that concerned me. I should have left much earlier. I could have spared myself so much anguish. Buy staying, I noticed I was starting to feel anger and bitterness build up. Trust is vital. I finally decided to leave after talking with a Christian counselor. I only wished I had left sooner as did so many others. My trust is in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Proverbs 3:56. Psalm 118:8

I once experienced a season of heartbreak, disappointment, and totally unexpected persecution after an out of this world encounter with God. Some mistakes were my fault, of which I had to forgive myself and overcome, but some of it was from other leaders who were manipulated by a pastor who seemed to hate me. Either way, God is Good and He always has proven to be faithful! Looking forward to the eternal world where we will be with Him forever.

It is hard to see how any church that truly believes that 'when you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation' can operate a livestream. The very effect of it is to make meeting front-led rather than the whole body participating.

That's not right. Any believer regardless of their ministry must prioritize God, then they're spouse, then children and finally the church. It's because pastors serve in the wrong order that many pastor's kids end up in worst situations than other kids, because they were neglected by their fathers.
@brianemmetАй бұрын
Great conversation, great resource! I've heard it said that God does some of his best work in the wilderness, in those in-between times, and this conversation is a powerful illustration of that. Too often, we narrow what it means to serve God: being pastor of a large church, esp. in a country where there are few churches, is "obviously" better than working in "business." Not necessarily so! It's possible to be in an in-between place and not recognize it. I'm grateful for the way this conversation and this podcast open up some conversations that many people need to be having.

Going through this, I was attacked spiritually and I needed deliverance they helped for awhile then abandoned me when things got worse, i was trying to tell them what was going on with me, it felt like things were being drawn out of me and there were worst things that happened but it fell on deaf ears it was as if i was exaggerating the whole thing to them and they got offended when I mentioned they weren't hearing me out so they decided to stop helping me and i kept begging for help and all i was told was to pray. and i would pray, but get knocked out, i needed assistance. I was abandoned and i could litterally feel myself dying. Not once did anyone call to check up on me and see how was doing either, one of the pastors was my childhood friend too and it hurt me deeply because I never expected that from her. I cried and asked God to send me help and the same week a friend of mines asked me if i wanted to come to her church, i didnt hestitate, I walked up to the pastors and asked for help and they helped right away. I don't know how to deal with this i talk to God about it and i'm trying to let go of the hurt i bare no grudges, i'm just hurt. It hurts deeply because I loved it there and the people as well but I truthfully felt let down.

That's why I just go to churches randomly and don't build relationships which are to deep. I have enough problems to solve, I don't need church hurt... So like this if someone makes a wrong move, I can disappear quickly without being hurt...

My fiancée and I have bene attending the same church for 5 and 14 years (her church). We are wondering if our time here is done. We have learned a very important lesson here that will help us love more like Jesus in an area that doesn't. We are wondering if God is calling back to a type of Christianity where we used to be but now with a new heart. Neither of us want to leave the comfort of our current church but the fact that comfort is our biggest fear makes us wonder if this is really where we belong. I think we both know there is something for us we just need to find/hear the calling.
