Sorry always taught wash or use water on meat as last resort. Damp cloth if necessary.
@OutdoorWays6 сағат бұрын
Thanks, I’ve heard the same prior to this. I think soaking it in water is a no no, but know the meat hangs and dries quickly after this process.

What do you do with the hides?
@OutdoorWays6 сағат бұрын
That’s a good question, if they sell the whole bison, oftentimes the customer also gets the hide to do with it as they want.

You people are such sportsman. Sad that you think this is manly.

Sad that you felt the comment was necessary. So, you don't eat any meat? No beef, pork, chicken, turkey, or fish? No cheese, milk, or eggs? Only peanut butter and tofu? You realize that growing soybeans means the farmer kills every living thing in that field down to the bacteria and fungi in the ground, right?
@ChuckJackson-k6w2 күн бұрын
That’s really just harvesting little more to it then if you raised it though like cattle, what’s wrong with that? Are you one of those vegans?

Sad that you think that it's socially unacceptable to eat meat. Soy bean farmers eliminate every living thing in the field, down to the bacteria and fungi in the soil to provide the raw material for your tofu. Do you not eat fish, poultry, fowl, milk, cheese, or eggs, too? How about an ostrich burger? Meal worms, anyone?

I know that bison are raised on some midwestern and western Indian Reservations. A certain number of bison are harvested each year and butchered by tribesmen. It is then vacuum sealed and sold in a market on the reservation. Look one up.

The “semi safe” idea is to emphasize that you can never be “too safe” and that things like cutting down trees will always have some inherent risk. Thanks for your feedback. Just curious why you say this is an American thing?

Never soak mhrms in water. Absorb liquid. Now one is the other. Any bad transfers to all. They are over 80% moisture already. Rather halve n set to dry or preserve. Soaking makes them into soggy mush.
