Hi Rosemary! I am taking an AMI Montessori training course (Assistants to Infancy) and we were taught this dance by our trainers. We were told that it has been passed down by students and trainers for a long time, but no one seems to remember or know the origins. I was so curious I ended up researching the song and finally found its origins (the poem called Arnisi, or "Denial", by Giorgos Seferis, and the musical renditions by Mikis Theodorakis and Maria Farantouri). Would you happen to know the origins of the dance movements and steps, who created them?

I doubt very much, Rosemary, that the Bells of Norwich will make Covid go away. It takes a whole lot more, especially as Covid is a tiny virus. But thank you anyway for clearly showing how to dance The Bells of Norwich, which is vaguely consistent with what I did with dear Rosey Fagg, at the Tewkesbury Circle Dance, all those years ago. Rosey is sadly no more, by the way, but her memories still live on with me and everyone else involved with the Tewkesbury Circle Dance.
