Let me rephrase that once I do a one side do I count one stitch from each end as part of the multiple of 6+7? Which would leave me the middle chain of the three not counted?… is to just get a centerpoint? I hope this is making sense. /
@missxade
@missxade 5 күн бұрын
Yes, you count the 2 stitches as part of the multiple 6+7, the middle sc becomes the corner stitch.
@SheilaThibault-j5k
@SheilaThibault-j5k 6 күн бұрын
I thought I understood this once. I read some of your other comments about the multiple of 6+7 but then when I went to do the single crochet stitch around on row four in the corners, it said to do three single crochets in the corners so does that mean that you add each corner to the number which would only be two extra stitches for each side. 😊
@missxade
@missxade 5 күн бұрын
Yes, you are correct! The first and last single crochet are counted for the sides (so 2 extra stitches per side) and the middle single crochet becomes the corner stitch.

You said the foundation row has to be a multiple of 6 plus 7? So if my row has 13 sc, is that 1 multiple of 6 + 7 or is it 2 multiples of 6 + 1? Im sorry if im not making sense, im just a little confused.
@GayleHallAZ
@GayleHallAZ Ай бұрын
If the pattern is a multiple of 6 plus 7, that means the total number of chains or stitches has to be a multiple of 6, e.g. 36, 54, 72, etc. for as wide or as long as you want the finished piece to measure. Once you’ve decided that, then add only 7 more stitches. For example, if the total number of chains or stitches is 72 (12 sets of the 6-stitch multiple), then you need a total of 79 chains or stitches for the pattern before you get started (72+7). So to specifically answer your question, 13 would be a multiple of 6+7, NOT two sets of 6+1. Hope that helps you!😊

I couldn't explain it better myself! Thank you (I missed the original comment). For this particular border you need an odd number of V stitches on each side, so the multiple of 6 makes the number even and the last 7 adds another V (making the number odd) and adds extra stitches before and after each corner to make the border symmetrical.
