It's fun! My non modded server runs on Gear 2 speed instead of Gear 3 which is a lot less frustrating and I find the speed enough to be still a good time so we can always do some sessions there :)

You can't actually lower the size of the UI normally by playing in 1280x720 lowers the size of the HUD a lot compared to other resolutions

I tried patching the rom with the 60fps code but it crashed on all emulators. Used the "The Nintendo 64 Gameshark Code Injector". Is it just not possible? EDIT: I saw 2 other people in this video saying the cheat doesn't work. I think it's incomplete.

Sort of. In my old run I use the ring box exploit (Vid link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHKVfpmmi9aDg6c) Which loses about 5 seconds at the start but all the ring stacking gives you insane speed for laps 2 and 3. Doing it without this strat is way more enjoyable though

I did not! I always wondered why I kept falling straight into the water not knowing that you needed the blue boost. I watched Wind's record to see what strategies this kind of time would require and then went from there. I did spend a good two or so hours on this one because I could not do the end consisten for ages lmao

Nice WR! Did you know about the waterskip tech at the end before loading up Wind's ghost? Wind didn't do it with his first run and after demonstrating it in mine, he easily put out his current run. Ultimately I think the next optimization if it ever comes is figuring out how to get the double boost panel all 5 laps. Seems really tough, you managed to get 3 though which is really really good.

If you pay attention to some of the character design - Mickey's ears are always visible, which helps sell the character's image closer. This is a common animation trick called the "Mickey Mouse rule" for that exact reason. And is why Goku's hair in Dragon Ball looks the same from every angle.
