Brilliant woman! I wish I could instill the love for Judaism in my children, they seem so detached. Growing up in Israel to a secular Jewish family, I took being Jewish for granted. It is easy to be Jewish there. Although I have lived in the States longer than Israel, it is harder to keep traditions. The older I get, the deeper the love and appreciation for what it means to be Jewish. I am getting closer to my faith now. I do believe it isn't just a religion, ethnicity or a race...It is our SOUL that is undeniably connecting us to one another. Thank you for the reminder. You are inspiring me to be a better Jew.

Also hes really a slick talker and sell you the brooklyn bridge but he does not stand up to his claims!! If your a young girl or boy pleas do not make the same mistake I did. Dont trust this man with anything related to money he is unreliable and irresponsible. I'm orthodox and I love my faith and I am straight and married a man and have 2 beautiful children and my brother is a celebrity which his dumb school hired lol I should have told him what they did to me. They are a huge disgrace. I cried before to god because I got off the phone with collections who said that I need to spend 6 months paying this money back before I can sign up for classes in queensborough. I was all set up. Once again I'm reminded of this disgusting heartless man who put such a big stumbling block in my life. I sincerely pray that hashem listens to every tear I cry and makes him and rabbi wallerstein cry as many as I have over this. Midda kineged midda this man doesnt deserve to get away with what he did. It's against the law to expel somebody for sexual orientation and I was 19. He could have maybe tried to see what was going on with me instead he chose to discard of me. Such a disgrace I truly hope he pays

This school is bullshit. I went here for seminary when I was 19 and the rabbi rabbi Greenberg kicked me out of the school because I had a relationship with a girl I'm my own home outside of the school. To make matters worse he pushed me into taking out loans for his program he said would help people get degrees. I was reluctant but he pressured me I assume because he wanted people to sign up since he got a cut back and I did it. Big mistake!!!! When he kicked me out if his school for kissing a girl I then was in trouble because the credits I was getting from his seminary were supposed to be combined with the program which was an online college called belleview. I then had to take it up with belleview and try to figure it out. Because Bellevue is In Nebraska it's a fortune and I couldnt get grants only loans. When he kicked me out I begged him and said pleas dont what will happen with my loans and credits he didnt seem to care he said sorry. Now its 8 years later and I am in big trouble because I never was able to pay back those ridiculous loans because of I never completed his dumb program since he set me up to fail by not allowing me the credits from his seminary to be combined which would have costed much less and accelerated my program by 2 years. Rabbi Greenberg is a disgrace to the Jewish community. He taught me nothing except that hes a fraud and his school doesnt care about the welfare of their students. I could probably sue them for this and I'm looking into it so if anybody has any ideas lemme know. But beware do not sign up for his college program he is a selfish man and doesnt care about the students and will discard of you if you are LGBTQ or just a young person and kiss a girl off campus. It's a cult. and rabbi zecharia wallerstein is no better. He didnt help me at all when I called him. He is the face of the school but he was of no help. Now I'm in a dilemma owing 7k dollars in loans with 2 children a family and I cant even take out aid now because those loans are in collections as I didnt have that money to pay it back since nothing ever was able to come of those wasted credits and money. Shame on this institution I pray god pays rabbi Greenberg and rabbi wallerstein back sevenfold for putting me through this! I'm stuck now feeling hopeless all because of a selfish uncaring discriminating man who decided I didnt deserve a chance for not being straight! Stay away from this rat nest!!!!

Hello Rabbi Markowitz. Interesting last name as my maiden name was Markowitz. However, it was really Markeweicz (I think that was the original Polish spelling). We changed it to Markowitz as there were other families with that name in the phone book in Kansas City, MO. There are other Markowitz families here in Kansas City and the U.S., but I don't think we are related to any of them. My father was from Lodz, Poland and went to Paris, France after WWII. My parents were both and most of my family were Holocaust Survivors. My brother, three of our first cousins and I were born in Paris. My family came in May 1954 to U.S. and Kansas City where we joined my father's surviving three sisters. Have lived here ever since. I am listening to your talk. I belong with my adult children and grandchildren at Congregation Beth Torah, Overland Park, KS. It is a Reform congregation. If you have heard the name of Rabbi Mark Levin, he was our founding rabbi and right now we are in an interim period and Rabbi Rick Shapiro is serving as our interim rabbi for two years. We will start the search for our permanent rabbi over the next few months. I grew up at Kehilath Israel Synagogue, a traditional congregation and also belonged for a short time at Beth Shalom Synagogue, both in Overland Park, KS as well. Overland Park is a suburb across the state line of Kansas City, MO. Most of the suburbs on both sides in Missouri and Kansas are part of the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area. Kansas City, KS is a totally separate entity. Maybe you should check out the various synagogue web sites and the cities' web sites as well. We are a wonderful place to raise families. Of course , our baseball team, the Kansas City Royals are in the playoffs for the first time in 29 years and there is a lot of excitement right now in the city as we are playing against Baltimore for the rights to represent the American League in the World Series. So far we are leading the series 2-0 and hope we can sweep the series in the next two games. Hopefully, the game will go on tonight here, but the weather is not cooperating. Actually, Rabbi Levin is originally from Baltimore, but he has been in Kansas City for over 35 years and so he is definitely a Royals and Chiefs fan (our football team). Wishing you a Chag Sameach for Succot and Shana Tova for the 5775 year and beyond. Best and warmest regards. Sylvie Markowitz Radvinsky [email protected]

The use of the word "temunat" following "pesel" gives me an image that those who have large pictures of the Rebbe in their homes it's a form of avoda zara (idol worship). I think it was a foreshadowing of the idol worshiping that some have succumb to in the absence of a "Moshe" "Rabbeinu." Food for thought!

I am embarrassed to say that in trying to get the recording correct, I neglected to state on tape that my thoughts expressed were from my Rebbe Rav Yissachar Frand of Ner Israel Rabbinical College. Any lack of clarity of this Torah thought is due to my presentation and not the Dvar Torah itself.
