I just saw this now. My heart is so mushy right now. My daughter is an adult and met her step dad when she was 12. Her friends set us up. A sorta Parent Trap kinda thing. We hit it off right away and have been married for going on 30 years. If my daughter could have she would have wanted my husband to adopt her but, she has a relationship with her dad. We are not enemies and I always championed her loving her dad but, my husband has always been super close to my daughter and they see each other as dad and daughter. and her daughters think of him as just grandpa.
