Bruce is a classic example of what we would have called a greaser when I was in high school. Nothing wrong with that. This song just proves it.

Powerful and inspiring! Bruce’s version of “Chimes of Freedom” is the entry on my new comprehensive Bob Dylan covers playlist, in case anyone here is interested: kzbin.info/aero/PLoptx_QotyOxCvbVP1867y9RlPAI1TnvX&feature=shared

Damn, it is 1988 and my brother and I are driving from Western NY to NYC to see Bruce in Madison Square Garden. Our crappy car overheated near SUNY some college I cannot recall at the moment.

I discovered Bob Dylan at age 12 in 1979..Springsteen a year later... I always thought to myself Springsteen is like Bob Dylan on steroids.💪🇺🇸

I love me some Bruce live and these '78 recordings are amazing. That being said, not sure what was happening with Bruce's guitar around 4:50. It seemed to be going out of tune and just got worse as the song went on. Too bad because this is one of my favorite medleys of his.

Only like a few Springsteen LP's....but when He writes from the Heart and leaves politics alone...He can give Dylan a real run for his money !!! Reality for many is hard to describe, but in this LP Springsteen hits it for many of us...top 100 of all time. A LP like this will never be writtin again.
