It was nobody's business but his. And it didn't harm business to be elusive about it. Incidentally, Bowie had a look of David Beckham on the album art of The Buddha of Suburbia, despite being 28 years his senior. Evidence that genius can be an elixir of youthful elegance.

Kudos to you, David Bowie. Way to politely avoid answering questions regarding a very private topic, both with humor and grace. Rest well, my dear man.

Some very weird and awkward questions, handled brilliantly in such an eloquent and carefree way. The world is a much sadder place without David Bowie.

This song was so perfect for Basquiat. I just saw it for the first time. Bowie also played Andy Warhol. The chaos and beauty, superb!

Bowie was a man who could pick-up any woman he wanted while wearing make-up and a dress. People wanted his to be gay because he was a threat to their masculinity because his own was so powerful. Bowie was so manly that he was still the most masculine person while wearing what other men perceive as a handicap. Bowie proved that your own femininity is not threatening to your masculinity if you have a healthy mindset and humongous COCK (collection of cool kilts) XD

I remember hearing this for the first time in the 1990’s on the Ryko reissue CD. I was blown away. I was already a long time Bowie fan at that point in my life and couldn’t believe I had not heard this amazing song. It is to this day one of my fav Bowie songs. It’s also cool I have to break out my CD to hear it. I can’t find it on Spotify.

First time I’ve heard this, Except for the vocal inflections, it sounds remarkably like something Bowie might have recorded back in his Deram days.

I can clear this up for anyone who wants to know. Bowie has said that he was never g a y or bi. That he was 'just young and experimenting'. And that he was in fact, straight. Look it up yourselves 🤷🏻‍♀️

From 1974 can you believe it? The way he sings it and the style of the song is so cool it could have been written yesterday, however some of the lyrics just wouldn’t be allowed…..today! I would love to hear a Visconti remix of this….the instrumentation only! I think he did a great job on the Man who sold the world 2020 remix or Metrobolist as it was called, which was in fact the original name for the album!

He was never bisexual he just wanted to shock people. I think he flirted with it because it made him more attractive to people and could sell more records.
