It is good to see someone go into such detail on the electronics! One thing about the MERG servo mounts - the plastic is slippery and many users have reported having trouble with the microswitches not staying in place and being unreliable. Maybe consider holding them in with epoxy?

lovely, what sort of rating PSU do you have for the servos? running a 5V 4A one here, and with just two servos I get enough of a voltage dip when both stall to reset the controller in a loop..

The Can Servo boards are wired in to my accessory bus at 12v 6A. If more than about 5 or 10 move at startup it's enough to stall but cycling power a few times resets them all.

Hi David. I'm still not keen on the flashing images at the start. Only the other day, I thought of you, so I checked, and there were no new videos. So I was really pleased when your latest video dopped. The difference from the opening of the tunnel scene area to your almost finished result was excellent. The very first thing my eyes clapped on was the golden weat field. I've never seen that product before, and what an excellent choice you made to include it. As the farmer standing next to the land rover, I wonder if a fox should be under the tree, the dark area opening. Regards Steve

interesting topic, I'm also in a building fase, may I ask how much space you have in-between your light and your track? Does that distance matter or is this just random? I assume you designed it that way that the observer sees the layout from a frontal slightly down ward position. Avoiding strait eye contact between the viewer and the led's them self. That's why for my layout, which is observed at track level upwards, the middel strip, will be visible. So I think I will only do the frontal light strips, but I loved how you placed them on a curved surface, and they're by covering the full 90° Of your layout.

@@_RandomPea yeah I'm looking forward to it. It's now looking a while off as it won't fit in the loft and will therefore have to wait until I move the layout into some sort of shed. I've just ordered the baseboards for the station module though.
@HorsehayRailwayModeller2 ай бұрын
@@_RandomPea it's woodland scenics fine ballast. What is traditionally sold as 00 scale ballast is usually over scale when compared to the real railway. @@_RandomPea I'd say in your case mount some led strips direct to the silver foil in the roof. Possibly using hot glue to reinforce the sticky tape every few feet. I'd use one warm white and one cool white. Maybe have a look at Ron's trains n things lighting guide. He mounts led tubes direct to the ceiling.
@_RandomPea2 ай бұрын
@@HorsehayRailwayModeller thanks David. The plan will be to eventually get that silver covered with board so that should make it easier to do. The other idea I was thinking of was having normal bulbs mounted in those angled bayonets along the roof supports, I could take power from the existing light fitting then which would be handy.
@HorsehayRailwayModeller2 ай бұрын
@@_RandomPea if you've got 230v handy I'd deffo recommend some led tubes. Similar to the old halogen tubes but much cheaper to run and in alot of cases smaller and brighter. I've tried with bulbs before and it's hard to get an even light without using loads of bulbs.
