How did you figure out it was 420 steel? That's an old but good knife steel.

@@TheMikeharris7 at the time of making the video it was listed on walmarts website, some ozark knives they list the steel but mostly they do not. Is it truely 420 ??? I wish all knife makers would correctly list thier steel.

I fought with that junk spout for 10 minutes and finally took it off and threw it in the trash can. I bought replacement spouts for all of my gas cans and now they are simple to use. That spout design is absolutely horrible.

I love blades in general weather they are expensive in between or cheap you would be suprised at some of these cheaper companies now offering the same quality and sometime better just picked this up last night and its a great blade just needed a little sharpening

I love that 2nd Pikal knife! I have that one and it's light weight and very useful especially for the size! The front flavor is awesome too! And damn that last one too I like the recurve and flat ground as well. 154CM is no slouchy steel! Nice editing in the video too JP!

Disappointing offset in folded position, as new. I always bought knives to do work in the past. The 1990's Buck 110's could cut the sheet metal cap off of a can of 7018 welding electrodes, snap off mild steel wire binding and chip off bits of concrete. I do not remember ever seeing that degree of misfit on a Buck knife even after a beat down. I am on the look out for a Duke as a collectible. Thanks for the video, liked and subscribed.

I assume it’s tool steel, which has grown on me in recent years because I love sharpening knives. I don’t love sharpening super hard fancy steel though.

@@raydrexler5868 Not sure what the steel is my guess is 5cr, its fairly easy to sharpen. I like super steels but like you i don't like sharpening them very much 😅👍

@@JollyPeanut I reserve my super steel knives for emergency and display. I have carried a Walmart purchased Bear Grils Gerber (made in china, basically a Gator knockoff) for fourteen years through rough constant use. The only reason I carry it over any other knife in my work (construction/carpenter) is the ease of sharpening. I’m glad it’s turned out to be tough (I chisel, cut and even split by batoning) but that doesn’t really factor because it was cheap.

I took the clip off and made it a kneck knife. It’s on the large size but it’s light. And almost full tang. I checked with a magnet. The tang goes all the way to the hole. I love that hair shaving sharp hollow grind. It’s the cheapest fixed blade I have.

Now that's more my speed. With as disappointing as most of my chinamart trips have been the last couple of years, i dont know if I'll even waste my time making a special trip just to buy this. I'll look for it if im going, though. And I'll buy more than one if they have it.

I bought one in my nearby Walmart, I returned 2 days later, all gone. Great for the price, and in my experience, it keeps an edge well, thanks for the video, JP. (A nice view, there.)
