Hi! I am going on a carnival closed loop cruise for the first time. I am also a green card holder, going to mexico. Do I only need to bring my green card, birth of origin passport and ID? Also, do they keep your documents or once they check it(at the beginning) do they give it back? And, do they check it every time that you get on from a port? Thanks again 🫶🏻

Hi! Yes I had with me my green card, Ukrainian passport and drivers license. They only asked for my documents during check-in process and gave them back to me after check-in was done. No one ever checked our documents in the ports. They only scanned our cruise ID card when we left the ship and came back. Thank you for watching!

They also asked me about my Ukrainian travel passport. I showed Ukrainian travel passport, green card and state ID during check-in process.

When you are coming back to re- entry . Do they ask to see your passport and your permanent green card or fingerprint

When we disembarked and returned to the boat they just scanned my US drivers license. But it’s good idea to have your country travel passport and green card just in case.

They only asked for the green card and passport when we were checking in on the boat. When we were disembarked in Cozumel and when we returned to the boat they scanned my US drivers license. But I carried my Ukrainian travel passport with me too just in case.

Did you travel with a passport ? I'm going on carnival breeze with my wife in January 31st 2022, and our travel agency said she needs a passport or a re entry permit from uscis. She has a Texas ID here in Dallas and a greencard. Please let me know if passport port is required or not thank you.

I brought my Ukrainian passport, green card and Texas drivers license on the first day. They checked all this documents during check-in process before you get on the boat. But when we stopped in Cozumel and Costa Maya I only used room key to go in and out of the boat. (There is a face scanner there) and no one asked for my ID. Even though I had passport and green card with me, no one asked about this documents in Mexico or on during check out. They only scanned room key card and we were free to go.

My wife's passport from her country is expired, and that was thing that alot of people including me wanted to know, if passport was needed or to cruise down to Mexico. When I called carnival they didn't know and told me to check with uscis. Thank again.
