99% muslim charities are just there to fill pockets. Sadly despite being a muslim, I would NEVER EVER trust there mainstream “muslim” charities. I rather go into a city centre set up a table and feed the homeless. Or lets face it, as pakistani’s we all know someone in our village that has no means of earning money - send it to them. Penny Appeal, Islamic Help, Helping Hands, Salam…they are all ran by crooks lining up pockets. You got bums working for these charities and a year later they buying £3-400k houses cash….wonder where that money came from. Surely charities don’t pay that much….do they!!

Most relief work done by charities is with a short term outlook. Yes sometimes those are immediate needs and should be provided for however they don’t scope to identify areas outside that. We need a holistically focused approach to get better value for our buck that would also require better communications between the charities and sharing of information such as sourcing of goods, services, staff, areas that have received support etc. however having worked with a large charity for free I find there is too much competition between charities and they will exploit all opportunities to maximise their donations. Regardless of the amount raised is even being distributed on the ground. We do have charities run by honest people but they don’t have the foresight or understanding how to best use funds. They may have good marketing to generate funds however lack long term outlook. They refuse to work with other charities or share info. I believe these charities should all have a shura board unpaid scholars who are familiar in this area of work

Far too many questions. Even here, he says they have a program of education, training etc for orphans but how is that money distributed??? He didn't elaborate on that. I recently spoke to a charity who told me that the price for an orphan in Syria, Iraq is the same as India Bangladesh. What a crock of 💩. And this is a very big Islamic charity. When questioned how this is not possible even on a basic economic level they insisted that foundation costs are the same in each country. A lot of lies. The maths don't work. Stop sending out circulars by post 4 times a year and save hundreds of thousands. Do your research people. A lot of questions emerge about a lot of these operators. Give money directly if you are not 100% on their explanation.

What annoys me is all these charities workers jetting off to foreign destinations to distribute the funds. Just save the ticket cost, get a real job and pay the money properly.

Thats why i stopped giving to charities. Its a business. I send money to people personally
