Cant stress how sad it is they've made flight so slow, these types of low flights used to be like a shot of adrenaline. Now it's like a duck farting about in a lake. Context : IRL we're about to hit Mach 3 in atmospheric flight and these ships can barely hit Mach 1.

@@Staticsceptre doesn't make a whole lot of difference, clearly you missed the memo when they reduced NAV speeds by around a 75%. Used to be able to boost at over 1000m/s now even in Nav mode in some ships they cap out at 250m/s There's a reason Terada and others aren't as big on low fly vids anymore regardless of the magical 'b' key Stay in your lane 🙃

I'm not convinced. Flying over the ground is ok. But what about through a canyon of sorts? Or even an asteroid belt? That might make me want to play the game.

@@minecraftprovie5076 Where are the natural formations, i.e. the rock bridges, deep canyons, cave openings, towering rocks, plateaus and such? Open land is boring, stuff to crash into is exciting. Flight sims need this stuff to make it worthwhile. At least have an asteroid belt or debris field to fly through. Where's that?

@@aevans1683 don't think rock bridges exist. other things do exist to some degree. you just need to know where. This is not Minecraft, where a huge cave opens up on the surface every 2 meters. there are guides for finding such stuff.

@@minecraftprovie5076 Thanks for replying. This particular video does not convince me enough, to want to play star citizen. There isn't enough about this type of terrain flying to make me go out of my way to get this game. I will pass for now, because there isn't enough substance for me to bother with this. Maybe one day I will join this community, but not today. Thank you.

Ships maneuvering in atmosphere as they do in the void… 13+ years into the development of this game, and they don’t even have a believable physics system in place 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

They have the physics in squadron, and showed them off last year during citizencon, they just haven’t gotten around to implementing EVERY ship with custom atmospheric flight like they plan to do, it’s not some little addition they could do in a couple weeks, it is going to take a massive amount of coding, and rn they are focusing on getting more important features in

Also keep in mind like 80% of their devs have been exclusively tasked to work on squadron for most of those 13 years, they only moved the majority back to sc last year, sc basically got a tiny drip feed of content due to a lack of devs for the longest time

What's wrong with the physics here? This ship has thrusters on the side which help it turn faster than today planes. This game has so many problems. Mainly shit servers, no proper quests, game runs at 20 fps, a lot of bugs. But this is the first time in my life I hear that the game has bad physics. You obviously haven't played it

Like Zaloop said while yeah atmo needs improvement, these are not planes. They’re super fast helicopters
