Even though I have 2 recent Fenglass fly rods that are decent, along with 2 World Class fly rods (the tapers and powerlux blanks were excellent), it’s probably just as well that Fenwick has now stopped making fly rods - better to leave the name reputation with the old company (before Pure Fishing bought it). Fenwick as a company really has nothing to do with the company with that name now.

@ yea to want to use the source of energy we’ve consistently and dependably relied upon for hundred years that helped drive the country into prosperity. Ur right, lets ditch that for some absolute nonsense leftist climate change agenda and go with a less effective, less reliable, more vulnerable source of energy in wind…. That likely hurts the sea life even more so than ocean-based oil rigs…. Yep 🤡

Tighten up your drag. I get that the sound of the drag is nice when filming, but those fish that are allowed to keep having longer runs over an over are going to perish. Fish appropriate gear for the fish you are targeting, and let's not forget we are trying to preserve this fishery at the same time.

A couple nice features but those batteries need moved. Also with that front in deck storage going so far forward, those hatches should be bigger. Pretty tough to squeeze things through those current size hatches.

I call total BS. Their is no way this knot would even be as strong as the Alberto knot let alone some of the better knots like the SC, FG or a PR knot. That is a poor version of a Uni to Uni and it has been proven to be one of the weakest leader knots you can tie. Anyone can claim their knot is strong but lets see it tested!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any environmental regs. which TMF supports?
@thefishermanmagazine9 күн бұрын
The Clean Water and Environmental Protection Act are as much responsible for the rebuild of striped bass as anything; of course the Chevron decision at SCOTUS (both times) added a unique new wrinkle to the government’s interpretation. The Endangered Species Act is a good one, but I have to say the NJDEP’s new interpretation of ESA in state rulemaking should be a huge cause for concern with any coastal angler. The Marine Mammal Protection Act was sorely needed, but this new speed restriction could’ve been rectified by use of technological advances in the world of fishing and boating (which is ultimately why that federal rulemaking bailiwick ended as it did). And coastal fishermen were ultimately responsible for the implementation of the 1976 Magnuson Stevens Act, but the ACL/AM requirements that came along in 2007 really put the recreational fishing community in quite the precarious position. Hence, the recreational reform initiative that I spoke about I this week’s video fishing forecast - supported by NOAA Fisheries and ultimately upheld by a U.S. District Court judge back in September - that is expected to sunset at this year, which could use the public’s backing. This TMF supports sane, sensible and scientifically supported regs; what I personally can’t condone is ideologues looking to weaponize established law to restrict public access. As for the recreational reform initiative, that court case decided that it did NOT circumvent established federal fisheries law www.thefisherman.com/article/editors-log-case-closed/ -JH
