@ShootingGallery1 "'relative to effort" is like saying " it's Gods will" . It's a cop out. Yeah you can slack your way through an actual college and come out ill prepared in any degree field, however when the program is set up where you don't actually get any practice, their support system is dookie, just read this article or chapter in miscellaneous book, here's a cerakote kit paint whatever just paint it good, and your " build" is just assembling an AR, you're not equipped to do anything. Yes each shop ( individual gunsmith business)will teach you what their way of doing things, but it's like going to an ASE certification program for mechanics. I need you to know how to use the tools correctly. If I have to teach you how to use basically all the tools from scratch you're not getting your money's worth. A basic armorer's course is going to have you more prepared if all you're doing is working on Glocks and ARs than SDI. When you get into real gunsmith work you're going to just stand there like a deer in the headlights

So two years after the fact, how many rounds fired and any problems with deformation at the holes or anywhere else? I have been told that the MUP stainless is significantly softer than the factory Sig stainless. Has it mattered?

Unfortunately my AM-15 only made it to around 300 rounds in two sessions. Had it stop early due to light primer strikes. Brought it home to diagnose. Gas block rear screw finger loose Ang excess gas venting around the block but I kinda figured that when my hand got sprayed with hot gas. I went ahead and pulled the rest of it out finding the firing pin was rough and not moving smoothly and cam pin pocket on upper receiver was gouged out. I’m a little disappointed but the gas block and firing pin I was happy to clean and torque the gas block and replace the firing pin with a JC. I’m not sure what the upper and cam pin problem is, maybe bolt tilt but don’t have gauges to check. Tomorrow I’ll call Anderson and hoping they can get it right. Over all I think it’s a solid product and the first range ran flawlessly and the parts combination for out of the box looks like a solid rifle. KY born and raised so I had to get a rifle that said Hebron, Ky on the side of it.
