It's better. I re-recorded everything but the vocal and acoustic guitar.

@samhall75096 ай бұрын
Yes, Sam Hall is "Old Woolie". Sam Hall is also an alias for the songwriter mentioned in the description above. The Rusty Blades are a fictional band that I made up for these recordings. I play all instruments and do all vocals and it is all recorded in my garage. Thanks for listening, glad you enjoy this stuff.

Who wrote this song originally?
@samhall75096 ай бұрын
I wrote this one about 5 years ago. Here's a rough live version of it by a band I used to front shortly after I wrote it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4DZlnqfmpJjoNEsi=7cPhByPWiIJt6tbL Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate that. As for those other Eaglesmith songs you mentioned, no, I hadn't thought of doing them. I find if I pick up a guitar and try to do a specific song it rarely works out. What works best is just messing around on the guitar doing bits and pieces of songs, then one will eventually click and I'll come up with a groove that feels good and proceed from there. I try not to sound like the original as much as possible, I've played in several bands over the last 45 years and tired of trying to sound exactly like the record. That's what people want to hear in the bars and such though.@@parkerbirdsell4194

WTF!! how'd you get inside my head, im a getting older truck driver, 40 now, this is so haunting, my ex thats also a getting older truck driver, my childrens mother, the younger girls i dated that didn't understand or couldn't make sense of it, this right behind Truckers speed just destroyed the rest of my afternoon. Im home thank God because this all would have shut me down good. Sometimes that truck that has been idling in the corner for 3 days has a driver in it that is sifting through his past trying to piece it together and make it make sense

@samhall75098 ай бұрын
I'm the singer. That's a great compliment, thank you very much. I'm a big fan of Ray Wylie Hubbard but I didn't try to sound like him, that's just how it came out. I also play all the instruments, everything you hear I did. I'm just an old country boy down here in Atlantic Canada who likes to make music.

Kickin real tune. 62yrs old an been draggin a skateboard most of those. Back in paper days I used to halfway joke that I lived on caffiene, nicotine, and ephedrine just to make my next load. Drivin today definitely aint the same, the soul is gone. Thanks for the reminder.

@samhall750910 ай бұрын
Thanks man, I apreciate the kind words. Nothing special about my setup really. The acoustic is a '07, (I think), Sigma DR-28 with a Fishman bridge pickup played through an early Fishman Loudbox Mini. The electric is a bone stock '97 Mexican Telecaster played through the same Fishman amp most of the time and on this song. I also run it through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe on some songs. An Ibanez Artcore hollowbody makes an occasional appearance through either amp. Great user-name by the way, think I'll make one with bacon.
