LOL, it's pronounced shar-chew-ter-ee. I agree with @GSandau that the bellied mug is super! It does look like mountains. Thanks for the shoutout! LOL Your version was much more interesting than mine. 😅 And I guessed right on the smokey merlot, iron luster, oatmeal combo. That's one of my faves. The order you apply them affects the outcome BTW. Great load! Congrats!

Pretty combo's! Is it possible that the little chunks are coming from one of the glazes? It would need to be strained. Sometimes they can get tiny b b things called oolals or something. It just seems odd that it's only a few pots.

Hi Nat! Great attempt at the honey pots. I'm looking forward to seeing the end products! I enjoyed watching you work out the ways to get to the end goal. Typically, I'll throw the lids off the hump, then throw the pot, just because I find it harder to center little pieces of clay. But there's as many different ways to do something as there are potters! Thanks for sharing.

I was amazed how you did it because it just proves there is more than one way to skin a cat ! lol 😄🤣 I love watching how you did the ridges in the honey pot too and can't wait to see the finished product ...you always brighten up my day that's for sure xoxoxo Love from 'Mud Witch'

Had to look up The origin of Kettle of fish…… The origins of the phrase is said to have stemmed from the fact that at the end of a fishing trip when the catch would typically be poached in a fish kettle and enjoyed as part of a picnic, all the left over bones, fish heads and skin would be left in the kettle which would resemble a mess.

There was, it seems, a custom by which the gentry on the Scottish border with England would hold a picnic by a river. The custom was described by Thomas Newte in his Tour of England and Scotland in 1785: “It is customary for the gentlemen who live near the Tweed to entertain their neighbours and friends with a Fete Champetre, which they call giving ‘a kettle of fish’. It's not entirely clear how it developed into the idiom "a fine or pretty kettle of fish," meaning a mess, which later gave rise to "a different or other kettle of fish"; meaning "quite another thing."

I received my order last week and went crazy with the plastic placemats too! You have the same as me and I Got some pumkins and spiderwebs, and the one Tiffany did a while ago of the large skull. I just made a large leafy plate and will open my Kiln in the morning after glazing it with soft white from Spectrum. It really shows the texture off so nicely. Remember to use some cornstarch on your Clay so they do not stick to the plastic once youv’re rolled it. Have fun 😊🩷😊

Got to love opening a haul! Some nice things there. I've got a few of the textured mats too and they work great. Also work nice when you just apply it half over a piece, so you have a plain versus texture, using the edge of the mat. You have to have a go at the leaf plates with real leaves. Super super easy to do! Just remember to dry slowly though! Hope the hand and Freddie get better soon, we miss your kiln openings! Just to make you jealous....Julia and I are meeting in 2 days for the first time. We live 6 hours drive away from each other in the UK and are meeting half way to spend a couple day's together, playing with mud and a pottery workshop. We're both so excited to finally meet! Shame you're a bit further away 😂 we'll think of you though xxx
