The one thing I find atleast with my shows is a lack of conversation in the chat, so it can be boring for some sellers with out feeling like they are being engaged or asked to show cetain items in their show or shop. I tend to do more talking trying to explain how I pack items, how I test items, how I polish discs to set myself apart from the fly by night sellers in my category. With that being said I find that popping in other shows from other Canadian sellers will help get your name out there, be positive and help encourage that seller to engage the chat, maybe get made a mod for that seller to help them moderat their shows and help them if they say miss someones question. those sellers may pop into your show to help engage and encourage you to keep going, since canadain sellers as so few and farbetween I have found that most fellow canucks have been overly positive on the platform and are more then willing to share their advice on how to do things, setup shows and give advice on ways to save on your costs on shipping supplies. at the time of posting I have sold over 218 items on whatnot. if you do do auctions I woud suggest you get a notepad so you can keep tract of waht item goes with what buyer, if you dont pre list and photograph each item ahead of your show trying to figure out what auction lot 1 and suction lot 8 are can be confusing without rewatching your entire show after the fact. in order to save yourself time when it comes to shipping after your show use a legal pad, sticky notes to help ID each pile for each buyer. be mindful that piles can tople over if you sell a lot of items. so keep good notes and lists for what item goes with waht buyer. one of the reaosn why i list everything to thte market palce I can easily during a show run an item a for an auction, ajust the staring price and have a photo to go along side that item which will help pick and pack orders vs just having say lot 1 lot 8 lot 15 lot 24 etc and trying to remember what each lot was. you can get large legal pads or post it noted from palces like temu, wish, the local dollar store etc. a thermal printer will save you hundreds of dollars a year vs using a inj ket / laser printer to print out a label. plus the weight of the paper and tape to hold that label on vs using a self adhesive 4x6 thermal shipping label. If you know you are going to be selling a bunch of items buy your shipping supplies in bulk, clothing you can ship in a polly mailer with no issues normally. Movies, games and other items you may want to use bubble mailers. I norally use size 0 bubble mailers so I tend to buy them by the box of 250+ mailers because I know I will need and use them. and buying in bulk will noramlly be cheaper then say buyering them from the dollar store.

my Two cents to the Questions as a reseller on various marketplaces and thought I would Chime in Q1) Do you need a theme for your whatnot show? a1) as someone who has over 1,800+ active listings on whatnot I think having a theme is a MUST, this way you can focus your efforts on certain items like say Comics one day, Movies another, VIdeo Games, Lego, Action figures and so forth. Some mobile users have issues viewing or loading your shop when you have so many items listed, so when you can focus each shows theme to one subject or category you can focus your shows shop to just that subject area and get more buy it now purchases, viewers who are interested in that subject and more requests to see specific items. it also makes it easier to grab those items to show on camera. Q2) whats shipping like for canadians? A2) as a reseller shipping is so much easier then say shipping on ebay, on whatnot you only have to worry about the package weight, so take your item put it in a package to get a shipping weight not just the items weight. most lego minifigures will be around 1-3oz shipped while most video games, dvds, blu-rays will be around 4-7 oz packed up in a bubble mailer. a game console or media playback device may be 4+lbs once packed up give or take depending on the deivce once its carefully packed up. you dont need to really worry about the package dimensions until you go to ship it. on ebay you will need to know the package weight and dimensions ahead of time. with that being said on whatnot you are allowed upto 5 Shipping Adjustments per week so if you make a mistake during the listing its not usually an issue and wont cost you anything (from experience so far) as long as you dont exceed the 5 shipping adjustments you get each week. if you are in Canada and signed up with a canadian address you will only be able to use Canada Post, you will not be able to use USPS (from what I have seen so far) so I personally cant use chitchats or stallion express to say ship a movie using media mail with USPS or asendia post to ship to say europe. from what I have seen and heard shipping can be more expensive vs say shipping on ebay. whatnot will normally charge around $11 USD to say ship a dvd within the same province as you, ebay will charge under $9 CAD to ship the same item to PEI. that being said ebay does charge a higher comission to the seller then whatnot charges. on ebay you can also charge a handling fee to reoop the costs of packing materials, you can not charge a handling fee on whatnot. Ebay also gives you a coupon code every quarted towards shipping supplies, whatnot does not. If you are able try to source Free shipping supplies from local business's, the pharmacy saves me all their used unwanted shipping boxes that are undamages and once a week I walk in and get like 30+ free shipping boxes that would noramlly cost me $2-$3 Cad each to buy new. so be resourceful when it comes to reusing clean quality shipping supplies and lesson your impack on the enviroment. Q3) Bundles? A3) I tend to list all my items to the market place and do a themed show vs doing auctions, I tend to list item to the paltform while I do shows. watching chat on one screen and listing on another screen while using my phone to stream the show from on a table behind my desk. While I am doing a show which runs as long as I am listing items, I let everyone know to check the shop buy now section so we can make custom bundles to save them as much as we can on the shipping costs and get as close to say a 4-7oz 8-11oz rate or 1lbs rate as possible to get them the best bang for the buck. or suggest they buy a 1-3oz item so all other items they are interested in get cheaper shipping. However what you want and should know is that whatnot charges around 8%comission + 2.9%+ $0.30 for every transaction on each and every transaction so if you as a seller can bundle multiple items into each sold lot (Bundle) you will be saving youself a fair bit when you think about it., there is no cart on whatnot, you will get charged around 8% comission + 2.9%+ $0.30 for each sold item vs bundling up 5 items into one bundle and only paying a single transaction fee... Myself and sevral other resellers created a Discord server at discord.gg/UnxEQTkT and a lot of us are in and out of that seer throughout the day and able to try and help answer questions to the best of our abilities, that being said the whatnot FAQ / help desk webpage will be the best source or even the official whatnot discord server. All the best to everyone. I tend to focus on trying to sell the items I enjoy collecting personally but I am in the process of selling it all in order to try and do a cross Canada road trip to buy and sell things on the road and exploring evrything from Vancouver all the way to PEI this summer, who knows if I will sell enough to rent an rv and get a starlink satalite internet connection and do this but I can hope for the best. You can find me on whatnot as Canadian Brick Cafe and on ebay as Canadian Brick Cafe. my feedback speaks for itself :)

Hello DANIKA, nice to see another Canadian reseller on whatnot, I would be interested in knowing how as a canadaian you had the ability to use USPS to ship as a canadian. From what I can see I do not have the ability to use say Chitchats or Stallion express on whatnot, I only have the ability to use Canada Post at the time of posting this I have over 1,800 items listed to the whatnot marketplace various Lego, Video Games, movies etc

Way to go getting back to Poshing! I appreciate your videos and always learn something new so I am selfishly happy that you are back at it. My US Posh sales have been rather steady this month with $635 total (highest since starting) and my CDN sales started off so slowly and then BAM! I sold a gorgeous Polena Umi purse for $400 and my totals for the month are $870 (another new record). I work full time with way too much OT so trying to be consistent on Posh is difficult, but once I see those sales coming in it does get easier. I am curious about your VA. Where do you get one? Thanks again for the video and wishing you many more sales next month 🙂

Hi! Came across this video because, well, I'm thinking about using whatnot as a Canadian (seller). Do you still use WhatNot? [Looking at your youtube channel, all the recent videos seem to be regarding poshmark]. If not, why not? Is it because of the advent of Poshmark Live shows? I watched your 'First Poshmark Live Recap' video and you indicated that live selling was just too much effort at the time. Is that still the case?
