I do think gear does matter when it's a right fit for you. I got into canon because like you said, it was all the rage. Haha but as i created my own content and started a photography & videography business, i kept researching cameras and realized sony was probably a better fit long term. The 5DMarkIV was an incredible camera but definitely held me back when it came to video. It was big and bulky, photo dominant and i wasn't confident when doing projects with it. And as you know confidence is key when working for yourself!! I seen an immediate shift in my confidence when creating with my A7SIII and overall work flow, that i sold the 5d and got an a7IV for photo and i've not looked back since. Great video!
