It means nothing when your Diverter Float Valve (Flying Saucer) inner disc is free and moves all around inside there when it's taken out of the water, as you demonstrated. It still could be bad. The inner disc can have water in it which does not allow it to float. If it can't float it will seal off the skimmer and only take in water from the pool drain.

No mine will go all the way down then reverse and stop about 2 feet up from the ground

Best way to fix it is by laying on the floor right under the door and make sure your neck lines up with the door 🚪as your laying on the floor with the remote in your hand ✋then press close. Coming from puerto rico 🌴🇵🇷

The door is old and bounced hitting the floor limit switch? What does that mean? How can the door hit the floor and hit the limit switch? Your door didn't hit the floor it just stopped and the limit switch is on the side so how did it bounce off the floor and hit the switch? Makes no sense but thanks for trying.

Was your water level to low? The water was being sucked from the bottom of the pool drain and not from the skimmer intake. This happens when the water level is to low. Same thing will also happen if big leaves clog the skimmer basket, this will stop the skimmer from working and the pump will then drawn the water from the bottom of the pool drain. If there was something wrong with the basket that would impede the water flow, that will do it too.

I have the same door, same issue, but just started the troubleshooting. If the door is the exact same model as mine, looks just like it, its a quality door. One big difference, I use a Craftsman/Chamberlaine opener that is almost silent with a belt drive. My first action was to buy a can of 3in1 Garage door lubricant and spray all the hinges and rollers as well as the slider and bar. After this about one time in 5 or so it would fully close, so left it for a night to let the lubricant soak in. My door doesn't just stop at 1 ft, it reverses, but that might be typical for the brand so you don't drive off thinking its closed. One other video I looked at suggested checking the top set of rollers that have the big offset to close the top of the door, if they are offset or loose they can bind. Thanks for posting your video.

I discovered that the dealer actually modified the skimmer basket taking out the nubs and it wasn't working properly. As soon as I put a new basket in place, everything worked well.
