James Watt was the only Giant of the Industrial Revolution! Take away James Watt's Steam Power and Steam Engines, no Industrial Revolution!
@user-ey6oi4xw8r2 ай бұрын
Britain from 1800 to 1900. 20,000 Waterwheels decreased in number. Windmills decreased in number. Englishman Thomas Newcomen's 1,500 Atmospheric Pumps disappeared. Scotsman James Watt's 500 Steam Engines and their descendants increased in number to 10,000,000 !!! For every SINGLE Waterwheel in 1800, there were now an additional 500 Steam Engines in 1900 !!! Consequently Power Capacity and Productive Output for the whole country multiplied by 500 times !!! In one human lifetime! This WAS the Industrial Revolution! It was a Power Revolution. And it was all due to only ONE SINGLE Invention, James Watt's Invention of the world's first PRACTICAL Steam Powered Engine in Scotland. James Watt dumped Newcomen's Atmospheric Power and Arkwright's Water-Power for Steam Power. Take away James Watt's Steam Powered Engines, you get no Industrial Revolution!

I think Ada would appreciate some more fitting b-roll with female mathematicians and computer scientists actively gesticulating and leading. Instead, you chose clips with females passively observing stereotypical males.

Interesting video, thanks. I've often wondered whether the power created and emissions saved from sending domestic food waste to an-digestion is enough to cover the amount used in it's collection, i.e. the journeys made by the collection trucks, the production of the biodegradable caddy bags and the caddies themselves etc. I'm guessing it's a positive thing overall, but would be interested to know if there's any numbers available.
