Jocelyn, Yes unfortunately you cannot hear citizens tell the 4 Councilors how unethical their actions were. They should resign.

This is so completely shameful! Statements made with zero evidence to back it up. This is wrought with lack of verifiable statistics and inflammatory remarks simply to support an agenda!!

If you wish to do this, stop the hypocrisy! You can’t complain about a governor doing the very thing you just did yourself! Shameful!

What hypocrisy! Complaint about short notice while putting an item on the agenda with even less notice! 24hrs?!

Please tell Councilor Hensley to stop playing with and braiding her hair and moving around so much! It is extremely distracting and very unprofessional. I have seen more of her armpits than anyone should have to see! Gosh!
@awbrey19793 жыл бұрын
Could we please focus on the greater issue at hand instead of attacking a woman for showing her armpits?

We have Mother's Day and Father's Day but don't need to have a day for people who don't have children. I don't understand the harm in having a day to celebrate differences. I don't need a straight, white, cis-female day because I'm supported by society on the daily. A day for those who are not celebrated and who have people teaching their children to ridicule them (as shown at 2:06) is obviously something we need. We celebrate Black History Month and not White History Month for the same obvious reasons. Please keep your entire constituency in mind when making these decisions. Awareness about a group is not the same as special privilege. Having a Trans Day does not mean that people who are trans don't have to obey the speed limits for the day. Or get free food for the day. It just means we know you are here. We know you are a part of our community. And as a caring, compassionate city, we support our community. All of our community.

I truly feel sorry for these people who are so bizarrely afraid of the "unknown" in their experiences with other human beings, that they immediately have to demonize what they don't understand, as well as turn themselves into a victim in a non-existent "persecution" of white people. This was such a small blip on the agenda of the whole meeting, but turned into a giant "white people rights" issue so quickly. Please, please, try to use your empathy to understand how other human beings who you interact with every day never knowing who/what they "identify" as, that they are the same goddamn person as you are; a person with fears, happiness, anxiety, worries, and a need for food and water. You, and they, are not unique. We are all sad consumers in this game of democratic capitalism. The least we can do is treat each other kindly while we all suffer.
