That was neat!! Put a camera and point it towards the water where we can see large fish and sharks. That would be fun to watch!!

I think I would only get ONE opportunity to take off with my PPC from a public park around here, then I would be banned.

Too bad you don't have a better place to take off. I didn't know what was going to happen but the title tipped me off. As soon as I saw the poles I thought...uh oh. It's enough for me to take off at the airport let alone with huge light poles and people obstructing the runway. I own a 1999 six chuter 503. Glad you made it safe!

When I was laying down the chute the wind was blowing straight from the South. By the time I got it laid out, it had switched to South West. I would have to pick the chute up and move to other side of the park. What screwed things up, I had reattached the chute and placed the little black marks I place on the control lines where they are tied to the steering bars in place, but when I took off, the left steering was totally off with about 10 inches of free play (Why???). If the free play was 2 inches, as Sixchuter recommends, I would have had no problem. I am glad I do not panic under stress. Thank you for watching my video. Blue sky and safe flying.

That's a bummer! Ive had the wind switch on me before too. My last flight before the cold the wind did the same thing to me. I waited a few minutes and it swung back long enough for me to hit it. Then, when landing it had changed 90 degrees so i had to land in a different direction. Thankfully my airport welcomes me out there. :)

i'm sorry , i dont mean to be a know it all , but how about a helmet cam , like the military does ....

I was probably using my helmet cam on that one. A cheap motorcycle helmet with a screw on top to hold my inexpensive Kodak z8. If not on that video, on others. Most of the time I forget that I am shooting a video. Concentrating on enjoying my flying and staying safe.

Hopefully The landing went better, as you get used to the new wing.

That is one pretty wing. It looks like you're still getting used to the new wing. From the video the landing looked a little hard, how did it feel? I liked Fonda's commentary.

It sounds like your truck is all set for Gatlinburg. I think you may have just infected your passenger with the flying bug, only time will tell. Thanks again for putting us up while we were down there. I'm looking foward to the fall.

Nice video, it makes me long for that good Florida weather. It's nice to see your friends from the dinner cruise. Sorry things didn't work out for the Nov trip, but don't give up 2013 is just around the corner.

I try my best. Have about 140 hours on it. Trying to motivate people into coming down to Panama City Beach, Florida to do some flying. Used to be 4 ppc pilots here. I am the only one now.
