PSA : During initial set up you go into settings via the soundbar remote & set the rear speaker volume to your liking.

I see the 8500 claim to have 80W total RMS power so im going to assume this means the speakers have pleanty of power but the soundbar hasnt got enough power to push them. I have a set of 9100s and they claim to push 55W per speaker but just like the 8500s, they arent loud enough. How did you hook up for speakers to the amp? Did you run them straight to one single port for 40w or did you use a cross-over configuration to push the full 80w of power to a single speaker? Id like to know cause finding the pyle pta2 are getting harder and harder and their newer models are pushing 100w and up.

I’ve been frustrated for quite sometime over the low volume of these rear speakers. It’s like there was no rear surround sound at all. I just ordered 2 amps and the RCA plugs from Amazon and can’t wait to get these and hook it up. Thank you very much for posting this video.

Did that work? Thanks!

Yes, it worked. I tried it with one amp and got the same hissing and static that was originally reported. The two amps worked exactly as described. I’m now getting much more volume from the back speakers.@@tachy

Whoever used this pathetic Samsung kit just PLEASE buy 2 of those amps and this will change your life forever. I'm also planning to upgrade rears to something better than original Samsung ones (9100) to add some extra bass. I tested one amp on both speakers and feedback was terrible but when used 2 they are completely quiet. Remember that using ground loop will most likely ruin your sound quality or change audio in some other way. And more expensive loops are as expensive as this amp so why even bother? Ps. Thank you for this video sir

Thanks for the video - sound is much louder from rear speakers now. One question - I'm getting a low hum from the rear speakers when the soundbar is off - even after turning the amps off - how can i get rid of the hum?
@georgeisjeff2 жыл бұрын
I turn off the rear amplifier when I’m not using it, which I agree is much less than ideal. I know there are some comments in this thread that addressed the issue and propose some solutions. I’ve not had time to try to implement any of them.

So you would have to turn on/off the amp constantly when watching/turning off TV? Also, my speakers are 3 ohm while the amp is rated for 4-16 ohm. Is that going to be a problem?

Great Post! I did the same thing that you did with 2 amps and then found a solution before I saw your video. Also, I connected the amp power to a smart switch and created a Smartthings Automation. That turns the Amp on and off with the power to the TV/Soundbar. [If: Soundbar is turned on. Then: Speaker Amp is Turned on and vice-versa]. I had the same buzz/humm until I added a Ground Loop Isolator for less than $15 on Amazon. Now, 1 amp is fine and I've reduced the TV on-off pop noise. You didn't mention it, but don't forget to make sure that you keep the polarity correct on your connections. Otherwise, your speakers will be out of phase and sound funny. [I posted this earlier, but my comment disappeared. I included some amazon links, so I will try it without.]
@Mister_Y2 жыл бұрын
What smart switch did you use. Was it a plug? I like this idea of amplifying the speakers but would be a hassle to turn on/off the amp every time I watch TV.
