Good interpretation of Peter's playing to finger style, single note bass! I've tried too, but it's impossible to play like Pete without using a pick! He's almost always playing chords...not single notes. It's essentially rhythm guitar and bass at the same time. Not to mention all that flare with pick scrapes and muted notes.

Loved it!! Ive always thought the bass lines in this tune held it all together, especially in concert. Ozzy never took a rhythm guitarist on the road even though there is definitely a rhythm guitar filling in under the lead on the album version.

Me and my ex girlfriend's brother were able to get to see a private show with Kansas in Wildwood Nj many years ago. they played a full concert which was broadcast to the entire boardwalk over 100.7 just me, john, and the bartender. we were outnumbered by the band! I was so blown away and starstruck I forgot to ask for autographs. Still one of my faviourite bands of all time! awesome job on the song!!!!!!!!!

@@MonchoEchiburu my pleasure. i see so many mediocre covers of songs on here (mine included...lol), so it's a real treat to come across covers that are really good. subbed....btw. if i can be blunt, there are a number of bass players on here who do covers, but i've yet to find one willing to even try to cover one song in particular. my asking even got one of them to shut down a livestream on here. i don't think it's THAT hard of a song, but who knows. anyway...i thought i'd put a bug in your ear, since it's not played with a pick...it's fingerstyle and slapping, which seems to be right up your alley. it's a song by Jean-Luc Ponty (who may be before your time, AND who was part of the Mothers of Invention...Frank Zappa's band), and it's an instrumental comprised of a guitar solo, a bass solo, and Ponty's solo on the violin. it's jazz fusion type of music. i certainly think you've got the skills for it, i'm just not sure it's your kind of music. but maybe give it a listen and see if it intrigues or challenges you enough to give it a go? lol. it's got a cool title, it's called "Egocentric Molecules" and it absolutely cooks. ------------------------------> kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6uoXmV-lLt9rK8
