I listened to “Ask Any Girl” by the Supremes, and found No comparison to 1-2-3. Motown and Holland Dozier Shouldn’t have Gotten a dime in Judgment. Wouldn’t happen today in Court. 1-2-3 was a great Song, with Philly Players Leon Huff and Bobbi Eli on the track.

Grew up laughing at Spike and his crew. Learned later that his musicians had all had classical music training. They learned to have fun!

It’s 9/20/24 in Austin, Tx! Great song! The guys sang that song going down my high school hallways to me😂….I was so skinny back then! Seniors were great in ‘68! I’m 75 and still rockin to the ‘60s today🥳🎶

I may only be a member of Gen Z, but I tend to enjoy listening to older music rather than modern while still having massive respect for both. I also tend to lean more towards enjoying comedy music rather than the serious stuff and find it fun to discover some of the wackiest musicians from back in the day. I’ve only listened to a couple of songs that Spike Jones did (accompanied by his City Slickers, of course) and, I must say, this man was *BONKERS* and I *LOVE* it!

The childhood memories flood back. My parents had some 78rpm records & Spike Jones' "Cocktails For Two" & "Chloe" were my (5 year old) favourites. Wonderful to hear them all again & remember where & when I first heard them.

I once heard John Fogerty talk about Bad Moon Rising and Stevie Wonders discuss Very Superstitious. Both wanted those to be more of an homage to Spike Jones. Gotta love artists who know the past and appreciate musical genius!
