That guy is the guy who joined after Brian. He was the riff man who created all the early 70's riffs. But they wouldn't give him credit for his talent. So he left. And they asked Ronnie to come in. He wasn't like them tho. But he made them greater then they were. Shame xxx

Brian Jones… his name as one of the world’s best musical composers and arrangers, and brightest and most diverse musicians of all times. The Rolling Stones was his band. The Rolling Stones was his name. He had registered it - no one else. Yes, the name and the band belonged to him… (Gloria Shepherd book)

ELP, Yes, Arena "cock-rock"...15 minute drum solos and guitar wanking performed by classically trained-rich kid show-offs...became, dull boring theater. The Stones, Rod Stewart and the other Brit-tax-exiles no longer sounded British. It was the third generation...The 2 minute Rock radio purists, that were later categorized as "Punks" by some flower-child female British journalist. It was that generation along with Johnny Rotten astutely observing that something was wrong. Yes, with the exceptions of some obscure survivors fanning the wick. "Rock and Roll was really dead." More than some, remembered what we heard in the mid-60s from our older brother's and sister's scratched-up and barely audible 7 inch, collection. That and a feeling of an imagined kinship with the rest of the alienated. An ever -growing number were now developing a disdain for the phony rebellion of having a center-part and flared pants. That. in my opinion, inspired the aforementioned...to form more garage bands then there was in the mid 60s, in order to save rock 'n roll at that time...Even the Rivet-heads saw the necessity at the time.

So he was 59 when he DIED? He's apparently no older than 54 here but he looks like he's well into his 60s. I wonder what he mightve accomplished had he lived longer?

A couple of interesting or even great films. Because Peckinpah was a genius. But he burnt up too quickly. This clip is from 1974 so he was only 49 years here.

The Stones embraced Glam very well. Jagger always stayed ahead of the curve. Tatoo You a great example of what to put out and when.

George is just a different cat. Maybe not Clapton or Beck or Page, but he does what they can't do: He fills his few seconds of solo support with a different musical phrase each and every time.

CONVOY should have been Rightwing. If it had; it would be immortal. Unfortunately, at best, it was faintly ridiculous. Like Ali McGraw with an afro…
