Thanks Neil, I’m running directly into a Friedman IR-X, slightly boosted with a Golden Pearl overdrive. Got a Strymon Brig after the IR-X and an Empress Effects Paraeq MKII Deluxe in the effects loop.

@@GiovanniRafii Nice! I've been boosting mine with a Boss SD-1w. At first, I wasn't blown away by the IR-X, but boosting really takes it to another level. It takes pedals really well and feels really good to play. Are you using the stock IRs or have a preferred one?
@GiovanniRafii
@GiovanniRafii Ай бұрын
@@lostwoodsThat was my first impression as well. Using an overdrive is really the best way to get a tight and quick attack. The onboard boost is nice for leads, but it feels a bit too loose for my taste. Especially, with a 7 string. I’m using the stock IRs, but I also have an Empress Paraeq MKII Deluxe in the effects loop, which I mainly use to shape/boost the mid frequencies a bit more and slightly smooth out the high frequencies.

Nice man! Those are the Loomis Blackouts right? I bought the same set for my Horizon FR-7 as well. Any trouble getting them in? How do you like them compared to the EMG 57/66?
@GiovanniRafii
@GiovanniRafii Ай бұрын
Thanks man and they sure are! Swapping them is a breeze since they both use the same quick connect cables. I definitely prefer the Blackouts to the EMG set, but that’s because I prefer passives in general and the Blackouts are more dynamic in that sense. The 57/66 set has tighter lows, but I personally found them to have the same harshness and sterile feel that has always put me off to EMG pickups in general.

@@GiovanniRafii yeah man I have a Loomis Soloist 7 and love it. Did you have to use any Foam? Same screws? I believe the Duncans are shorter.
@GiovanniRafii

@@vinsaneinthemembrainnnnThose are great guitars. I used the foam pads that were already under the emgs. Same screws as well and didn’t notice a significant size difference when swapping them, so they shouldn’t give you any trouble

@@GiovanniRafii and what did you show by doing this, what did you achieve? showing off tasteless character, that's all. another philistine spoiling the absolute classic. when ppl like you understand David Gilmour is not some senseless Malmsteen copycat shredder. if you cannot improve things, better leave them at what they are.

@@amused2death775 Lol you forgot to add hitting a nerve with whiny, cork sniffing, elitist keyboard warriors to my list of achievements. It’s not the least bit surprising or insulting when these types of comments are coming from someone that has absolutely nothing to show for themselves. Anyone who thinks they’re such an authority on guitar playing or music in general should either put their money where their mouth is or keep on crying me a river of wasted tears.

Funny you mention that, because I also found I like it best with my Friedman Sir Compre before it and a paraeq after it to smooth out the high frequencies, as well as sculpt the mid and low frequencies a bit more. Much appreciated. The BE-OD and the Dirty Shirley are probably my favorite among the countless “amp in a box” distortion pedals I’ve tried. I actually prefer this over the deluxe version, because of the ability to fine tune its resonance as opposed to the fixed position tight switches.

@@carloscesargallardo4762Try connecting the output of your Headrush into the return input of your fx loop. If that doesn’t work, there could be a loose solder joint on the jack. One of the input jacks of my valve king needed to be Re soldered, because of a bad connection as well.
