I don't know why your video popped up on my feed, but I will say that is an Excellent compression in the cylinders.

My intake lever rod doesn’t move when I rev it 😭 i was under the impression that thing moves above 4K rpm. This can potentially explain why my manifold buldges near the PCV diaphragm uptop when reving it 😅 I was thinking that was normal to since it has no check engine light or anything. Any thoughts ?

Is that the date on the rev counter? Funny that the 2001 car has the date set to 07.01.1998

On what earth do i live on where people now consider 60k miles or 100k miles high mileage. Just because a warranty ended doesn't mean itll explode. I have 204k mile car with no major or minor issues

@alaverga173

I heard that they aren't that reliable that they're prone with overheating issues due to the headgasket water pump or crack pipe and the timing chains suck on these
@PLr1c3r
@PLr1c3r 2 жыл бұрын
@@alaverga173 The timing guides are prone to breaking but as a VR6 in general its much easier to do the chains compared to a regular v6 because its one head. Once properly timed you have 100k miles before it needs to be done again so IDK how it "sucks" that's just routine maintenance like any other vehicle would need. Crack pipe and PCV are issues also but these are 15-20 year old vehicles so you have to expect some parts to fail occasionally.
@alaverga173
@alaverga173 2 жыл бұрын
@@PLr1c3r I don't know if I would call changing a timing chain routine maintenance and I've had a civic and Silverado with over 200k miles never had to mess with the timing. I'm thinking about getting a 04 golf with the vr6 but all these things are making me not get one
@greyskiesrainfallandpeace3006
@greyskiesrainfallandpeace3006 Жыл бұрын
@@alaverga173 hate to break it to ya but ditto is correct, there is infact a timing chain interval for any engine, not just these engines; it's matter of fact physics. They are actually quite reliable, as long as your timing chain is new and you stay ontop of your oil changes like any other car it'll last you for a long time. I've replaced my DMF and i plan to make mine last 450,000km, currently sitting on 142,800km with not a single dent or hairline scratch on my blue wagon. the interior has held up immaculately too, no creaks and noises from the dash at all. I speak from spending my hard earned money on VWs and i can attest that it's totally worth it and if you're so concerned about these things then you shouldn't be buying cars without test driving them. timing chain wear is super easy to avoid on the second hand market and if it really erks you then you can still buy these mid 2000s vr6s with second hand drivetrain warranties that'll drop a brand new engine in if you get a cylinder head through the bonnet; 5 years after you buy it.
@alaverga173
@alaverga173 Жыл бұрын
@@greyskiesrainfallandpeace3006 like I said my Silverado has gone over 200k miles without messing with the timing chain and have seen the same with many Japanese cars, my brothers honda is close to 300k miles and his Tacoma has 400k miles never messed with the timing chain. Having to change the timing chain every 100k miles isn't great and I wouldn't consider it regular maintenance like ditto said regular maintenance is changing oil and filters, sorry to break it to ya

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.

That will change as Porsche are plowing load of resources in synthetic fuel, batteries don't have the energy density 60kg of petrol in my golf 4motion 2.8 will take me the same distance as about 900kg of batteries in a tesla and were all the electricity coming from Germany don't like nuclear any more.
