It's definitely offensive and I'd consider it racist of I suddenly came across it on TV today but I have to say I still found it funny. Oh dear 😂

Thank You for Posting this. I have been a huge fan of Jessica Fox ever since seeing her in The Phoenix and The Carpet and The Worst Witch. Now present in Hollyoaks. It's nice to see something I have never seen before with her in. Thanks Again.

A beautiful story. Poorly recorded, with sound issues and awful resolution, but full of the character entirely missing from anything I've seen in the past two decades. No wonder I rely on 'old' English films, I suppose. Bugger the BBC.

A lot of fun from a marvellous age of film. Loved the characters, the fete, the old railway carriages and the beautiful gardens. Like having a weekend away. Thank you.

This reminds me of the storyline from "the Darling Buds of May" gauche civil servant sent to investigate the records or financial doings of an eccentric family in the countryside where he finds an idyll and lots of sexually open lively women who come to him.

Continuing my recollections of the Eccentricity of Suffolk (vid: Parts 1 & 2) I returned to Suffolk after being away for 5 years. I visited Lord Henniker whose step daughter I had married and subsequently divorced. He had given me a house and loaned me the money to buy a new car. Over breakfast he looked at me briefly over the top of the Times, in which he was scanning the Deaths, and said 'You again? Haven't seen you for a while?" and went back to his paper, not the least bit interested in my story. Oh, how I miss the sexual abandon of the '70s and '80s!

First time I have heard "Diss" mentioned in a play. I lived for a time in Thornham, and Diss was out nearest "big" town where we shopped. All the eccentricities portrayed here are totally believable. Characters like Lord Henniker and Jack De'Ath, a labourer who claimed to be the last in a line that traced its ancestry to the Norman invasion. His complaint? Too many AngloSaxons in East Anglia. The game keeper who looked like a garden gnome and was in constant battle with John, the local fiddle playing poacher. I'd love to hear from anyone who knows of an American play that comes anywhere near the brilliant eccentricity of this British style of Comic Theatre.

....and the winners are... the salt of the earth Brit "middle class." The civil servants! Decadent inbred "out to lunch" aristos with amazing survival skills, duplicitous "peasants..." Still lots of fun...

Plus, her husband wears a mustache like Adolph Hitler, Yuck and his mother is awful! She should divorce that hateful man who is a mommas boy to the wicked mother in my opinion.

War is awful and it should not happen at all only greedy politicians start them with no remorse for the people who are murdered, Sad. There shouldn't be my side against your side because we are all human beings who should gently live with all sides of the human race.

I was born in the U.S. and now live in Thailand for the past 25 years I am 67 with Scottish, Irish, English, and German ancestry and never heard of this delightful show, Thank you very much for putting it on, Peace! This is so much better then the violent movies that Hollywood likes to put out. A very nice peaceful show that had me laughing quite a bit.

The censoring kinda defeats the purpose of showing it. It no longer makes sense at all, It was hard enough following these shows back when they were initially broadcast without this censorship
