it's good! i like it a lot. best buy's having a sale on it rn for the baseline model for like half of what i paid (16gb, 256 ssd for 799) granted i did upgrade both ssd and memory but still a good deal nonetheless. i know they came out with m3 air but i don't actually know anything about n i wouldn't wanna give u the wrong info. but i love my m2!!

haha such a valid question, i went mainly because of the CS + Chemistry degree they have here because i'm super interested in both computer science and chem and no other school really has blended majors like that!!!

i would say just try to be really authentic in your essays and try to do STEM related extracurriculars in middle school to give you more things to talk about! also 8th period is really big at TJ so research some 8th period clubs you'd be interested in. hope this helps!

i do research that involves image processing and running lots of code (plus for my cs classes) so i wanted to play it safe. i probably won't upgrade to macbook air m3 since i just got my m2 a few months ago and i upgraded it so it'd last me longer but i'm def curious to see how m3 performs over time in comparison to m2!!

@@cloudyair7395 soo there have been two times where i'm running heavy image processing and i ran out of storage...but to be fair i wasn't keeping track of what i had open and i had A LOT open. so for that reason i'm glad i got 24. i plan on keeping this one for a LONG time (for context i had a 2018 macbook pro with 128 gb storage and 8 gb ram that i used for 4 whole years and i squeezed every last drop out of it) so that's why i'm glad i invested a little more. but to answer your question i do think 16 would have been fine i just feel a bit better with 24.

@@michelleru do you think this macbook would last you more than the 4 years you had with the pro? and why didn't you choose a pro instead of the air? has there been times where either your pro laptop or macbook air get warm? if so, what sort of applications were you running? i want to do either software engineering next semester, or computer, data science on this laptop also thanks for responding😄

tbh my dad works in cs (which is what im trying to go to) and he said to upgrade/prioritize ram over ssd since unlike ssd (which u can like use a harddrive) u can't rly do much once ur out...when i had my old macbook w 8 gb ram i would run out DAILY so when i got this one i knew i wanted to play it safe

@@michelleru i'm also into the cs industry and your dad was right about prioritizing ram over ssd, but with how big the jumps are between ram increments (8gb, 16gb, 24gb, etc.) I understand that 8gb wasn't enough but 24gb was probably overkill. But, to be honest as long if you have the money for it, 24gb would definitely keep you worry-free. To any one else possibly reading this, if you're worried about ram, just upgrade to 16gb and you should be a-okay!

About the notifications during sleep: You can set up a sleep schedule in the clock or health app on iPhone to set an alarm in the morning and not let any notifications through during sleep time. You’ll be surprised how different the watch looks with the new watchOS 10 that most likely will be released in September. I already have it on my Apple Watch and I’ve been loving it. i actually have a question i really want to join the school but im not sure if im permitted as i live in Gaithersburg,md , can i attend or am i not in the region.(im in 7th and am like 27 minutes away from the school).Pls respond ASAP{edit} my stats are gpa: 4.0 (highest your can get at my school ) in 8th grade (next year) im takings advanced english honors,advanced us history,algebra 2 ,honors physics,advanced art and aerospace design tech the only clubs in taking are math team,new papper club, and FTC robotics team (not much) i'm also trying out for the soccer team (probably not gonna get in) reading and writing map score:256 (this year) math map score:264 (this year) cant quite remember any other stuff comment if there's anything i'm missing or should improve on :)
