You'll maybe be relieved to know that I got one of those surgical instruments, made of aluminium, that Daevid used. It gives a really smooth tone. We're talking Glissando here and it's shaped to be held! Wazoom! I'm very happy with it.

+deepinder cheema Taken straight from the multi-tracks by Steffe and dubbed over the footage (the footage had the sound from camera, which obviously wasn't as good, so a labour of love by Steffe editing it together). I suspect the GAS samples will have been MP3s, the actual CD sounds excellent.

@ gaute seipe - steffe could confirm but i think no loop-pedal.... instead, stereo guitar fed through separate effects groups in guitar synth (hence trumpet & piano guitar passages.... a true humble maestro with a message of love.

still a highpoint of life in recent years - putting the gig on at all was a victory of positive vibes and the outpouring of good energy was astounding - buy the cd everyone! and support live gigs where the moment is all there is and all that matters

Hi. yes you can get it from the planet gong websites trading section. The CD is great, but it is really only about half the show - it was their debut show, and as far as I know it was the only time they played live with Steve Cassidy on drums (he'd been playing with the line up in the studio for ages), they have since got a new, female, drummer and a synth player (ex Ozrics). The parts of the set not included on the CD were mostly songs Steffe had done with Here and Now, since then each gig has been entirely improvised whereas at this one it was about 75% improvised. I think Steffe, apart from being a lovely man, is also one of the worlds greatest and most expressive ad imaginative guitarists. There is now a 2nd CD from a live gig in Glastonbury with the new line up, probably also on the planet gong site.

Ha ha - that is RMC regular Roy the train driver, better known to the world as Captain Barrington White, sometime VCS3 player with The Captain Space Toad Experience who also feature Captain Sensible (bass) and Monty Oxymoron (sometimes drums and sometimes keyboards) both from The Damned... It was a milk crate on his head - essential for proper reception of the vibes, man.
