Thanks for this rip, the sound quality is far better than the other more popular upload and the torrent I got years ago of the programme. It's a shame the stupid editors decided to fade the studio versions over the songs as Tom is jamming, we've all heard the studio versions a million times; they missed a piece of gold not letting us listen to Tom's jamming!

There's no small irony in the fact that, about a minute after waxing about the quality of old growth wood as a source of tone, Mike then says that it was only when he swapped out the pickups in his guitar that he got the tone he wanted. Just to be clear, sounding good doesn't require a priceless antique of an instrument.

It's so crazy to see him so chill and mild mannered in this video, you can still see the teenager in the Decline of Western Civ film all these years later. Really hard to get cooler than this

Mike says how nobody is hunting down the mid 70 les pauls that he loves..... Well maybe, but as a dad with a kid who loves guitar and great music I will be one of the people who will be hunting one down !

Saw Billy yesterday rockin' live with the Cult. Like his father was, he's also in construction - constructing R'n'R-masterclass. He would never allow his fans being disappointed about his playing, so he works his ass off every evening. Love his attitude.

Thanks for being there since i was a young, punk rock skateboard kid, and later a more chill fan of all music. You have always been an inspiration. Much appreciated Mike

Mike is such an inspiration to me. Hearing Bakersfield after not listening to this record for a while reminds me how different this album is. Even more autobiographical than normal. More rock than punk. But for a 55 year old dad of 2 so perfect!! Thanks Mike and Social D!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️. One day we’ll play together.

I was never an SD fan growing up but now at the age of 55 I am and discovered I have virtually the same thinking and attitude as Mike Ness…..just an original guy. Nothing pretentious about him, what you see is what you get. The same can be said about his music.

Billy Duffy will forever be a God in my book! I have one of his signature Gretsch White Falcons which I ate bean soup and sandwiches for months to save up for and it has been worth EVERY penny!

It’s sad to see the difference in the quality of building materials between 1940 to present day. I work in homes all in that range of years and I’ll tell you they don’t build like they use too. We live in a disposable society.

They should only do real guitars on the show. I had a speracial experience as well and God told me “WTF is he talking about”! I said back…yeah everyone thinks they are a Rock Star these days, Good job!

Mike Ness was the only other dude in the London Exchange when I got my Doc Martins in 85. He had just gotten his spiderweb tattoo, and fresh out of some rehab. Didn't talk to him, just gave him a nod- I was only 15. Good times. Punk rock in the early 80s was the best, before the infestation of emo, self loathing, grunge stuff.

At 47:35 I get it. My acoustic bass has more feeling on punk and rock than any of my electrics. I can get more emotion out more than noise

I met mike ness at rhino records when I was a young teenager in the mid 1990s. I was wearing a social distortion shirt and some guy just said to me “nice shirt” I simply said “thanks” and then the rhino records employee came up to me and said- “do you know that was like ness?” Completely went over my head 😂 and did not expect to see him at the music store.
