Danny saying everything good that has happened to him is the result of him helping someone else. Jesus says in His word "the least you do for someone the least you do for Me."

We all know old timers in the program who are very rough around the edges. But they stay sober and help people. So you big book thumpers need to lay off Danny! Clean up your own side of the street!

I love AA. Cravings have nothing to do with. Pseudo intellectualism has everything to do with relapse.

I go to meetings, it forces me to think about why I am there. It works for me. Doctors never EVER helped, but a room full of my people sure helps

Yup... God Bless AA Fellowship. Truly an amazing program full of recovery miracles. So if your drinking yourself to death and want it to stop, please make the call for help. Today maybe your miracle day and you will never ever need to drink ever again. Nice share! Thanks for sharing it.

AA has such a miserablely poor "success rate" (5-8% at best) because it fails address the medical cause of AUD does nothing to treat cravings, which are the primary reason for relapsing. The whole AA concept was developed a century ago, when little about the cause of AUD and how the brain works was known. Worse yet, as scientific knowledge has grown and better evidence based treatments have developed, AA refuses to evolveand embrace this. Forced Abstinence is NOT the only way to treat AUD, neither is it the best way. Over time, it triggers the Alcohol Deprivation Effect which makes relapsing almost guaranteed. Research "The Sinclair Method" a safe, effective reduction treatment method, which has a clinically proven success rate of 78%.

Thanks. I've known via the grapevine that Danny has been sober a long time. I always wanted to hear his story. It's a great story and demonstrates the power of the program. What's not to love?

It's up to the individual to be anonymous or not but should not expose others if you don't like it then it's your opinion on the matter and everyone has one just be respectful and responsible with your own actions and opinions

My sobriety date is Cinco de Mayo 2008. And I saw my sponsor burning stuff on the beach one mornings and asked him what he was doing? He said burning his 4th step, he was giving it up to god. He had 24 years at that time.

@@shrupe it’s not my program. It also has instruction on how to work it, and keep it. Everyone is free to ignore all of that. It’s just a shame that ego has to be on display like this, even though this type of public display was written about from experience in the 12 and 12.

@@edarmbruster9686 This has helped me. Not because he's a famous person, but because I needed a meeting. Hollywood isn't listening to this. Danny T. isn't sharing for fame or promotion. I don't know who recorded this or published it but I'm grateful they did. There's a lot of great leads on KZbin. I don't care "who" the speaker is.

@@tomodonnell1436 please, please, please study the steps and the traditions. These traditions aren’t here to make you feel good or bad. They are here, written by people who tried many different things, and know more then you do to protect this way of living that has saved so many. So regardless of whom this may or may not help, actions like these can ruin this program, and it’s obvious that you have never spent the time to get a nodding acquaintance with the program that may have already saved your life because you think you know better with zero information. Please, I beg you to get a sponsor and read with him about how to use this program as well as preserve it for future people in need. Please.

I'm so glad A.A. helps people still. I'd like to believe as a Dr he now would be open minded enough to say there are many ways in2022 to get sober including mental illness treatment. We have now how Gos people who give people a medical choice. But I'll always respect A.A. developed in 1935.
