Do you have a video that discusses the Multicausal Model: Syndrome Model of Addictions?

Heroin is like a greedy monkey on your back that needs more and more. Glad I have been clean for 30 years now. Praying for all addicts and their families. ❤

Locked up in jail I was forced to kick a high methadone dose cold turkey. The damage done to my body was severe. It brought on organ failure and brain seizures. Along with a life long case of PTSD. It was so long ago that there was no easy legal recourse, or lawyers willing to pursue it.

I hope you are doing better. I have had Friends I prison given just pain killers to help with withdrawal. Hopefully things have improved for helping inmates get clean. Sending you love and support ❤

A proper dose of methadone will have the same effect every day for years without needing more. This is the general proven rule. This allows the user to be slowly detoxed and tapered off without any discomfort. But heroin quits working which leaves the user needing more every day. Making it very hard to reduce usage.

Withdrawal can be fatal if there are severe dehydration issues (unable to keep fluids down after vomiting and diarrhea). Also, if there are cardiac issues, people can go into cardiac arrest/heart failure. There can be fatal strokes, especially with the elderly. Withdrawal is a severe shock to the system and major organs can give way because of it.

Never experienced this until recently, my stomach wouldn’t digest anything after going cold turkey, I kept drinking tons of water and wasn’t peeing at all and all I was doing was shitting liquid, eventually after a few days everything started functioning again but that shit isn’t worth it in the long run

Can prolonged opioid use also cause immune deficiencies, as well? I have heard that MERSA is common and bone growth/healing is adversely affected by opioid use. Is this true?
