@TRNCHWRF4R No,..... my comment was not meant to be sarcastic. You see, Thread locker under high heat and rapid cooling causes a chemical reaction that can distort or corrode the threads on the barrel. It's best to use a sealer made by Volvo that seals oil pans. That stuff is perfect for this type of application and all you need is a very small pin head drop.

Good looking weapon. For any thread locking compound you should clat 3-4 of thr very first threads. It sill then coat evenly over the rest. Though blue loctite on muzzle threads do nothing as soon as it gets warm the compound breaks.

@Wade-1Күн бұрын
@TRNCHWRF4R I get it. But I work in Oil and Gas and also work with a vast array of thread lockers. Essentially all the blue loctite does in that scenario is add a little lubricity when you put it one. One or two mag dumps and it turns to powder. You'd be better of with high temp barrel grease and a slight amount more torque. Rocksett is a nightmare but it's one of the only things that will hold up to the heat. Technically I guess you could treat the shoulder work copper sulfate or a hydrochloric acid etching on the shoulder. With that using a thread compound/grease creats an almost micro etching that acts as friction to keep the muzzle device and the barrel locked. There many many things that the firearms industry could cross over with to use.
@smith81242 күн бұрын
If you’re removing a Dead Air KeyMo muzzle device for a Knights Armament, go ahead and skip the Loctite and use Rocksett. You’re never ditching the KA setup and a Rocksett bond doesn’t weaken and degrade with heat cycles. Just know that if you ever do have to get a device with Rocksett off, you’ve got to submerge it in boiling water for a while 🤙🏻
