I was the tuba section leader and my band director would always stare me down at 2:38 so he knows I hit the note on the 4th and every time I listen to this song I get the chills of hitting that note and seeing my director getting pumped up from the strong note

What this tune has to do with Moscow and 1941? This is tune well known in Soviet Union about Russian civil war of 1917... 1920. My mom used to sing to me when I was a little kid.

The way the siren sound with the drum sounding like a bomb is beautiful It makes me feel emotional and the way it sounds is beautiful. I’m in 8th grade band wind ensemble as a trombone player, and oh my god! The way I get so excited to play this song.

Playing this as from the view point of the timpani's. I hit them so hard for the "cannon shots" at 3:22, I lost some of my hearing but it was worth it.

1:18 - 1:48 will always have been one of my favorite parts to ever play on French horn Then of course the rips near the end of the piece 💪 We only had two horns when we played this and our director let us lift up our horns and take our hands out of the bell so it was really chaotic loud blasting (of course we had to tune it to make it sound right) but it sounded great within the chaos of the rest of the band, especially the trombones/low brass
