@ Hi Nigel , I like fishing but I never done bass fishing in UK , I use to go bass fishing back home , can you suggest a bass fishing place in Essex and what is the best time of bass fishing ?

@ Finding a bass mark takes years of dedication….i suggest any estuary system with a good tidal flow with some bladder rack sea weed for cover in places. Don’t know where you are coming from so can’t suggest a close one for you. July and August the BEST for lures. Most fish present. 🐟🐟

If you dont mind mind me saying slow down a bit on your retrieve especially as the water temp drops you will get much more takes keep up the good videos 👍🏻

@ Hi Tim….cheers for the comment. Unfortunately the JJ minnow is awful worked slow in shallow water. That was about 4 foot deep there with a raging through current. Mr JJ just snags bottom and comes back with a big blob of Blackwater mud stuck on its nose. 😂😂. If I had a weedless and weightless SP on then I would slow down. The JJ is fantastic for me but it’s a bugger in mega shallow even with the rod tip up. I caught one and I was chuffed for a November bass on the lure. If I have another one I’ll try a nice slow retrieve on a different lure maybe. 👍🐟🐟🐟

The only lures that i’ve found can be retrieved, bounced, very slow in the Blackwater and Crouch are the gravity stick type which don’t have a nose/nib projecting below the attachment eye. I’ll be trying these a lot more especially in poor light conditions.

When I said “for once” I meant this year 🤣. It’s been awful on the Essex coast this year if you are on foot. 18 schoolies , no keepers from at least 40 sessions I’ve had this year! Last year I always had one in the freezer at least

At least you got an "alright mate". I've had people fish within 20m without even a word spoke. One night in the summer I was fishing and walked past two guys fishing, I went about 1km past them, within about 15 minutes they were both fishing to my right about 20 metres away, one of them decided he wasn't close enough and had gone behind me and was now fishing within 10m to my left almost over my shoulder, like a bloody pincer movement it was, and not a bloody word or wave from either of the them. I had the last laugh, landing a Bass and then walking between them without saying a word or acknowledging them at all. Very satisfying 😂

I fish close to your second location and I find a slower more erratic retrieve with a white surface lure seems to work better. Planning on a session there Thursday 3rd Oct.

@@tollesbury1 looked like a good hit ! na mine was on the Westin F360 sea bass … first run I was ooooh Second run I was PB The third run was mad and snapped my leader in the middle… it’s deffo the biggest fish I’ve had on in the uk I was broken people (none fishermen) who I’ve shown a clip to go oh well you will catch another I’m like you don’t understand fish of of a lifetime is called that for a reason 😂 not sure how to edit it yet as I’m not sure people want to see a 55year old bloke near to tears over a “fish” lol anyway I’ll shut up this is your channel 🎣🎣🎣

When the water is flat or a slight chop..the water is clear and the bass are in smash mode you will have some action. It’s noise it generates makes a big difference in some situations. A nice steady walk the dog and you will find a fish. 👍🐟
