That sucks. I tend to ski aggressively but only do high speeds on a wide open trail, and only after I'm warmed up and have my ski legs under me. No way am I getting injured and ending my ski day early.

The best place to be in Vegas!!! Lee is my home mountain I love that place!! I separated my shoulder there about a month ago and cut my season short, hope your buddy healed up and got to tear it up this season!! can't wait for next season!!

Im sure we've met at some point. This was my first season ever snowboarding. I started here at Lee canyon. I was on the mountain equally as many dayd as i wasn't this year. But my season got cut short when I tried to jump off a box and nearly broke my wrist ("only" a massive sprain).

Sometimes an injury like a broken limb or one that's been dislocated is heaps easier to heal from than if you don't manage to break bone but you injure the muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves that support the joints. I mean that broken bones usually mean casts and sometimes operations to get the bone in the right position and then your body does the working of mending the break. Versus hurting/tearing/stretching muscles, etc where they heal extremely slowly if at all. I am hypermobile which means my joints bend more and muscles etc are more stretchy than normal. Months ago I was walking with a heavy tub in my arms, my ankle rolled over and the muscle that joins the tendon between my shin and the top of my foot tore more than an inch( tear wss 3.7cm). If I had torn the tendon I would have to have an operation to fix it but because I tore the muscle I was told to go home and "rest it". The pain and instability of my ankle has only gotten worse. My gp is finally sending me to orthopaedics to see what I can do to help it since bandages and rest didn't help. I think id rather the broken ankle or torn tendon than the ongoing pain, instability and nerve problems

ok great job but try to pop onto the rail more than just sliding on, this way you can lock into it and you wont just slide right off the other side, also try to get more close to 90 degrees on the rail and you should be good to go.

if you are still learning rails id suggest jumping from the side with speed and turning 90 degrees right since you go at it from the left
@TannerSG

Thanks, I've improved on my rails since my last videos. I usually go center now. Forces me to pop 90 so I don't half ass it. I appreciate the tip @JapexGT

Most of the people who get serious ski injuries are good skiers who might underestimate the risk of certain situations.

I’ve been thinking about that a lot recently, being a month out from my season ender. I feel like a lot of people could at the very least get down some of this more difficult terrain (save for mandatory straightlining and such), if they just took their time and remained in control. It’s when you get overconfident that injuries begin to occur, like I did myself.

if you want some more advice. i always was landing on my back and side when I did 360s. 1.first of all i was rotating the wrong way. 2. keep shin pressure and try to stay straight ish 3. most important is pop technique (learn this first) 4. keep your eyes pointed flat with the horizon, if you look down you will get off axis **and bonus tuck up you legs a bit when you spin for more style and stability

A lot of times i feel like a backflip would be easier for me than a 360 cause a 360 is so foreign. The commitment aspect is the scariest part.

@donovanmartin9907
@donovanmartin9907 6 ай бұрын
Backflips are mechanically easier to pull off, but are more intimidating because you need more airtime. 360’s are more universal and scalable, but trickier to pull off on larger hits
@ChirpFPV

technically more simple if you have the right jump. Right now Im more comfortable doing backflips than 360s
