Looks awesome. How'd you get a 35 footer out on that lake? When I called the Marina they said they knly have slips up to 28'
@wjpeeee Жыл бұрын
They have longer dock space at the end of each of the lettered docks and along the main dock on one side. 28 is the longest "normal" slip. Getting a big boat in the water is quite a challenge at this lake due to no haul-out lift...your only option is to ramp launch/recover. Ask for the manager. They'll accommodate you!

Dude! I went to that 4H Camp every summer in the early 1990's and have great memories of it! I hate that it has been abandoned and neglected for so long! There used to be a huge swimming pool there across from the main building where we had meals and group activities. Thanks for this video!

The radar navigator was on his final flight in the B-52 after a 37 year career where he accumulated 12,000 flight hours in that plane, a number no one will achieve again. He was an Ole Miss alum and they did this on their way back from a training mission as a final salute to his alma mater!

Lol It’s not “ Spooky” at all! We ride our 4-wheelers out there all the time. With our grandkids! We’ve been there many times after dark. It’s actually kind of sad. The whole place is just falling apart, some from nature some from vandalism.

Nice boat, nice marina. Love the stainless port frames, and super rare to have an a/c at this size!

Thanks, Andy. The previous owner had the frames custom cut locally. They are nice! The a/c is a must here in the hot and muggy southeast US!!! It is a 12kbtu...struggles during the day, but will run you out of there at night.

Is this recent? Are they not going to fix the docks. Looks like just need to replace the wood. They probably had insurance. And looks like a nice place. Looks abandoned.
@wjpeeee3 жыл бұрын
Bob, This footage was taken on April 3, 2021. The storm (Zeta) was October 27-28. The entirety of the marina structure has to be replaced. There are many pilings missing, many are still standing but are compromised. The water and electrical is destroyed. even the portions of the parking lot have changes in elevation and sink holes, etc. The marina is owned and operated by the City of Long Beach, and no there is no insurance (self insured and FEMA money). I would bet you would not be able to get insurance on a marina with open exposure to the Gulf of Mexico and/or the Mississippi Sound. I have another video showing more of the Marina. This one is mostly of my old slip.
