A totally different world..... sitting in the living room in front of the radio. The radio is a new piece of furniture. A cabinet with no doors. My father talked about his family's radio quite a bit. So much so, I feel as though I were there. Lone Ranger Little Orphan Annie You Bet Your Life

Dude, no way. It never occurred to me to look for this on KZbin. I made a couple of these kinds of radio shows for audio classes in college. Love this man, so glad it was recommended by the algorithm. 👍

I remember as kids we'd listen to this on a radio made from tin cans and string. Then we'd pretend we were the Lone Ranger and shoot one another with guns, made from tin cans and string. What I'm saying is, we could do a lot with tin cans and string in the 1930's.

I love it. I'm 79 y/o and I was just transported back to my youth where we used to sit around our old Upright Radio and listen to the old radio programs. We didn't have a TV back in those days and wouldn't for many more years. We depended on our imaginations. Those were good times. Thanks for uploading this program.

In 1951, at age 5, I remember seeing "Dragnet" on t.v. at its beginning, with Bart Yarborough, as Jack Webb's sidekick! At the same time, the show was simulcast on radio & my 64 yr. old grandmother refused to watch it on our brand new television & preferred to sit in the dark, while listening to the radio! She had grown used to the "theater of the mind" version! Memories!

Dragnet! Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent... Well, not quite... They changed a lot more than just the names... locations, some background stories to make the characters more interesting, etc... But the crimes themselves? Ripped DIRECTLY from actual Police Reports with most details kept intact from beginning to end.
