Hi Priya...Can you please help clarify that language of teaching is German? How will a child who is in Grade 10 moving to Germany cope in this case? Also, does the child need a resident status (based on family) or can he apply for a student visa on his own n come to study his Grade 10 and onwards in Germany? What level of German proficiency are we talking about to be able to understand academics in German?

I am afraid you will have to go through International schooling (Private) route. For 10th class level proficiency has to be expert level. All the best

You forgot one main point, their entire education is in german, which means they will study maths science and every subject in german, and their way of life will be in german that is the point of this system which takes 40% taxes to force German language into immigrants and the wold exactly what the history was about. maybe the public schools are good but they have no inclination or deire to make your child into a global citizen, except three small countries no country can speak Germna, if we still woud have studied in Hindi in India, can you even imagine you even going out of India that is exactly German mentality

I dont think so. English is taught as second language. Yes, german education system needs serious improvement. But many Germans are working globally.

What makes Herzogenrath somehow special is the fact that the Neustrasse/Nieuwstraat divides Herzogenrath in Germany from Kerkrade in the Netherlands. It's almost like one town with two names that lies in two countries. I don't know the place but I'd love to get there. In former times there was a fence dividing the street in two. Now it's great without outdated border controls (which doesn't mean that the police don't check the borders from inside). In football match clashes between the Netherlands and Germany it once came to heavy fights from what I've heard but nowadays this doesn't happen anymore as Dutch may live on the German side and Germans on the Dutch, and the local dialect is basically the same anyway midway in between both languages.

As a german i am truly curious about india, the culture and especially about the medical knowledge (like ayurveda and stuff like that). I think that western medicine, for example, can learn a lot from this knowledge (and they get more and more professional interest in that). I can say on the other hand that, maybe due to the fact that germany did not have so much cultural interaction with india in history, there are also many differences that are maybe difficult to understand or adapt to for eachother. And, that's right, the fact that the country is so big and there are so many different languages, cultures and religions can be overwhelming. Just because in germany or europe in generall everything is way smaller and all cultures had (historically) their "own space". Also i think that german culture in general has a calmer and less noisy appearance. (But that in general in comparison to more sunny regions of the world) i could imagine that this might be reasoned also by less light and colder, darker winters. The more you get to the north in europe the more the people get reserved and of a silent appearence. I could imagine that can be overwhelming from the other perspective as well. But as the world is becoming more and more cosmopolitan, i hope that we get the chance to meet and learn from eachother and get closer understanding for eachother. Often you start adapting some cultural habits of one another after some time. I had lots of contact with middle eastern culture over the years for example. Nowadays i often cook middle eastern food and like to drink my tea and coffee in their way.

So interesting perspective that may be due to cold weather Germans are not so loud. In India, we are more loud or vibrant in life, be it our music or dress or food choices. I like that Germans like you are so curious about other cultures. It makes life so enriching. Thanks a lot for your comment
