@@samfletcher222 yes we love it and wouldnt swap it for any modern van at all. If you look at my videos you will find loads of info. I also run the VW autosleeper clubman group on facebook which only admits owners but if you buy one its invaluable because all the members freely give advice about their wonderful vans,

Not long before Freddie died, I booked a three day ferry crossing from Harwich in the UK to the Hook of Holland. My friend and I went to the bar during the second evening. He went back to his cabin soon after and I stayed on drinking. The act came on shortly after - it was Freddie and his gang! I had a great night my mate missed out on. So glad I got to see him.

I find the 3 string guitars very interesting, I first saw one in the hands of Seasick Steve, love his album title 'I started out with nothin and I still got most of it left' I love slide guitar in general, I dabble a little... Great video Mr. Stomp. Now you gone and made me want to get me one of those Cigar Box Guitars. Take care

@@nicohatsoff I am not with a band at the moment, I've been writing Guitar instrumentals and have enough for my debut Album lol... I hope to record them once I've finished renovating my house. I'd like to play with a band again but having worked on Cruise ships and in Spain for so long I don't have many contacts in the UK scene.

Hey Mr. Stomp, that really is a great song! Nice melody, good chord progressions and I like how the lead guitar reinstates the intro theme under the 2nd verse!

Thanks for listening and your kind comments Paul. You would have done a better job on the guitar. My lead playing leaves a lot to be desired and its really a struggle for me. Im much happier on rythym

Well thats a fantastic offer Paul . Unfortunately good ones take their time to come along. I write complete garbage most of the time but now and again a good one erupts. This actually is one of my all time favourites . I wrote it in 2016 to get perspective on how long it takes between good ones.. I certainly will contact you if one erupt😢s lol dont hold your breath . Lol. Take care mate x

thank you for posting this. i'm so sorry for your loss. it's lovely to know that freddie continued to enjoy music that way and that that's how he felt about it. i've always loved tracks that have fun with music, humour is so important, underestimated and missed out on by so many who take it seriously. i grew up with them both, pinky and perky and freddie and the dreamers, that is, altho i didn't know it, born in 1961...in our family, we didn't have a tv till a decade or so later. i did have a pinky and perky single, probably my parents', a smith's crisps promo if i remember rightly. my earliest memory of freddie is in the movie 'every day's a holiday' which i video taped from the tv about twenty years after it was made, c1965 i think. with my children, i met mike sarne in 2015 in hammersmith town hall, when my son dj'd a rnr event he performed in, a last minute addition to the program. my 9yr old daughter had learned a bit from the movie, in which he talks to a little girl, just in case we got to speak with him, to pull his leg with....which he recognised immediately, even tho it was from 50+ years before and he must have been about 75 at the time. he smiled, of course, and proceeded to tell us about his four daughters, a lovely gent, who posed for photos for us too. i had a few of his 45s by then (major spending spree after my son began spinning the wax) and asked which of the accents was real, he said what makes you think any of them are, i am an actor you know, with a wink. you'll be pleased to know, he had lovely things to say about everyone he worked with. we have his artist wife anne, who we chatted with in the foyer moments before, to thank for that. it was great to be able to give a little back and say thank you for the entertainment. there have been funny records produced ever since records were first made but the fifties and sixties were definately the peak (sorry spike, you of course were the exception to that, a genius always). tv and film reaching the masses by then must have helped, so visual entertainment became as important as the audible, which freddie and the dreamers excelled at :) thanking you too x

Freddie doesn't seem to be doing much of the singing in this performance; the much younger 'Dreamers' appear to do most of the work. A bit sad. Rest in peace Freddie Garrity. Love and peace.

My grandfather nicknamed 2 of the bosses/ "directors" at work "Pinky & Perky." This was in the early '70s. One of them was a really nasty piece of work, very "up himself." He often tried to make things very difficult for my grandfather because he wanted him out, but his little schemes didn't work. One day he called my grandfather into his office and said: (fake posh accent)" I hear that someone has been referring to Mr. (don't know the other guy's name) and myself as "Pinky and Perky." (Hoping to catch him out). My grandfather replied, deadpan: "Really, Sir? Fancy that." Grandpa left the man's office and guessed who had "told" on him - another colleague, whom he never trusted again. He carried on as usual till retirement. Any time Pinky & Perky get a mention I laugh because of the story about the nicknames.
