You put these codes in a book and price the damn thing so freaking high its along the lines of being raped. The codes should be given to us for no cost. Is it even legal for you to tell us how we gotta build but wont tell us how , then charge us money to see the how or we get fined even more money if don't follow the how to guide?? Nobody else charges for an instruction manual. Look i wouldnt complain if you were reasonsble like 20 bucks or so but y'all smokin crack at the price you want for an irc book. Like i said. I understand your concern - nobody likes to be told what to do. Problem is that firefighters are obligated to protect you and your structure and a poorly built building puts their lives in danger if it catches fire. Plus, if you move, the building doesn't go with you. It remains in the community for decades to come. So the community, and the next owners have an interest in knowing that it is a safe structure. The big question is where to draw the line on requirements...

How much is too little when adopting the IGCC? Does taking out installing energy management systems, reducing daylighting to 25%, omitting the recycling of construction waste, eliminating post C.O. inspection checklist, and only adopting Appendix B affect how efficient this code is? At what point is the IGCC non-efficient?
