I met Barry Cryer in a pub on City Road in Newcastle in the late 80's. I told him a very filthy joke about Rock Hudson and he returned the favour with one of the most obscene limericks I have ever heard about Jim'll Fix It. Years later, the Jimmy Savile scandal broke and I realised old Barry knew exactly what was going on.

Doubt if Danny will ever be back on the BBC again. One comment about a royal baby has effectively ended his career with them. And yet they knew about Savile's antics for decades but did nothing. They suspended Huw Edwards on full pay even after knowing what he did. Compared to those two cases, Danny's was so trivial and yet he was brushed away from history by the big wigs (who are probably doing dodgy things themselves) at the Beeb.Not one mention of him for the past how many years on that channel, it's as though he never existed. Hopefully he'll come back better and stronger on a nother channel be it TV or radio that will appreciate his talent.

Hi - I was at a live Danny Baker Show at a skating rink in London between 2002-2004 (most likely 2004) and I was featured on the show with an impersonation I did on air. I have read all his books multiple times and i know his wife let it slip about TIYL but sod it , i still love him and was fortunate to see him in person last year live and he didn't disappoint.... Pity he isn't still on radio 5 💔

This show was the one & only time I ever listened to BBC London.. Just look at the BBC now in 2024. Ive haven't had a TV Licence since 2015 & gave up on "LIVE TV" back in 2017 when I moved out of a house that had a licence. The BBC should have become a content provider years ago.
