THAT FIRST HOMELITE ON THE BENCH " THE SMALL ONE " I WISH I OWNED IT AND A COUPLE MORE. I'V TOLD EVERYONE THAT WAS THE BEST CHAIN SAW I'V EVER OWNED. AND YES I HAVE BOUGHT ALL THE BIG NAME SAW'S OUT THERE. NOTHIN CUT LIKE THAT LITTLE HOME LITE.
@g.a.srepairs43845 ай бұрын
I’ve never actually used one, I have one that’s in like brand new condition. Old Homelites never die though. When ever I need a top handle saw I always use my stihl ms201tc which has an m tronic carb, so I never have to tune it and I really like that saw, however in my opinion the stihl 200T is the best top handle saw.

Do you still own this one, and if so would you sell it
@g.a.srepairs43845 ай бұрын
I sold that one, but I have another one now but it’s rougher.

@g.a.srepairs4384 do you have an email so we can talk about this more, I'm looking for one for my collection, but only if your ok with shipping the mower and honestly if the frame is good and most of parts are there I'm good with that, don't even need the engine on it
@g.a.srepairs43845 ай бұрын
I have never shipped anything before so I’m afraid not, sorry. do you collect mowers. I’m probably pretty far from you too.
@BIGGRIM4205 ай бұрын
@g.a.srepairs4384 no that's fine I just wanted ask I'm trying to collect the different models of commercial toro mowers, and I think this model on the video will be the hardest one to find cause it's considered to be semi commercial so I think they'll be hard to find. Nevertheless thanks for the answer

I have a 21” exmark 2021 with the same engine. Any idea as in why it’s blowing white smoke? It was used and had burnt up old oil in it. It has new oil with the correct amount and new oil filter. I ran it for 5-10 minutes and the oil was super hot, oil looked bubbly on the dip stick and the filter was super hot to the touch. Also, white smoke was coming from the dipstick. Is it toast?
@g.a.srepairs43846 ай бұрын
I don’t think it’s toast, I would check the spark plug first and make sure it’s good. Then check the valve clearances and make sure they are in spec, then maybe take the head off and see if there’s any damage on the head, piston or cylinder. Also see if the push rods are straight and not bent.
@g.a.srepairs43846 ай бұрын
I have a video about replacing the head on a exmark with a Kawasaki fj180v, it may help you but I would watch a video about valve adjustment because I’m not very experienced with that.
@g.a.srepairs43846 ай бұрын
Check the head gasket as well, the only other thing I can think of is valve seals, so if you have the tools for a leak down test than I would suggest doing a leak down test.

Like most people you don't bother to torque the flywheel bolt... just wonder why. I mean I don't torque wheel nuts but I thought this ought to be done.
@g.a.srepairs43846 ай бұрын
I didn’t torque the flywheel bolt because I don’t have a tool to hold the flywheel in place while I torque down the bolt. I could put a block of wood between the deck and blade but I’ve never had a problem with just using an impact.

@johncollins83046 ай бұрын
Great job, thanks for sharing. There are some bits on the editing floor that I wish you hadn't cut but I realise they're not your subject. You go from a view with the flywheel all flat and rusty lonesome to suddenly it's wearing its mountain ski slope -- I cannot figure how to get the fan out of the housing. I suppose it's just a push fit. I've given it a good soak overnight and hope it will separate out if I just ask it nicely. Lns.
@johncollins83046 ай бұрын
At 13:14.
@g.a.srepairs43846 ай бұрын
The fan is held in by two plastic pins that are apart of the fan and go into the flywheel. I’ve never had a stuck fan but I have broken the pins on one before so be careful, I think you can just leave it on however.

I was waiting for you to start that on the cement so I could laugh when it went out of control. (BTDT) Good video, . Also if you intend to work on motors long term wear gloves and get some exhaust fans. Sucking in brake cleaner and gas vapor regularly will damage your body.

Could be a couple problems but I would test for compression and if it good (100-150psi) then I would clean the carburetor. If that didn’t work I’d do a pressure and vacuum test, and if it holds pressure I would try and change the carburetor and gas filter. And see happens from there.

You have to put the shield back on the head of that blower. The air that is being pushed from flywheel Finn’s is supposed to push air across the Finn’s of the head to cool engine
