Love this! I study caddis pupa and this has all the characteristics of the real thing. Couple things I noticed, with the exception of the famously large traveller Sedge, the body on your Pupa, specifically at the bend is really large. While most Pupa I have seen have a reverse taper, this is a little extreme. Also that casing with the Swiss straw generally extends to about half the body length and generally wraps to the sides or underneath the body of the Pupa. Please take this as constructive criticism, I really do think your fly is the most realistic I have seen and I will be trying to mimic your technique. Thank you so much!! Also might I ask what the weight and diameter of mono and nano line your using? Below is a link to a caddis pupa that is typical in my parts of the world. i2.wp.com/flyguys.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/RealCaddisPupa1.jpg?ssl=1

+OR Fly tying 😊😀😁😂😃😆☺( that's for your son! and how I feel when I watch you tie!) I've used cheap latex gloves for caddis larva, with dubbed green underbody. my wife caught her first trout with it. I'm buying the heavy kitchen ones from now on. I tried tying a realistic stone fly from Eric Leiser's book when I first started to tie. the body was a split quill that I successfully split, but broke when wound. ostrich herl gills like you did, but it turned out a bloody mess! I like using markers to paint minnow bodies, then coating with nail polish as it blends the colors and toughens the body. you've given me incentive to tie realistic again. what's the quality of Berkeley nano that you like? I've seen it on the market but know nothing about it. (I also spin fish). lastly, what's your country? kudos to your father and your fingers my friend. hope the genes are passed on to your boy. God bless.😇
